					Hi. I'm Odhanan/Ben.

Been a role player and DM for a while. I'm an O/AD&Der, and play/run multiple other RPGs as well. One of my current campaigns uses OD&D rules in my own Dunfalcon setting, which mixes the Free City of Greyhawk area with Yggsburgh, as well as tons of other influences and my own stuff, into a single setting.

Lately, I hang out on the K&K Alehouse, the RPG Site and Role Play On Line (RPOL), mostly.

I just found out I never registered here. So here I am. _________________

Thanks for the welcome, mate!

These are the arms of the characters I am playing right now. I built them myself with photoshop, so I'm glad you like them! I actually found back this forum (which I knew from before but somehow had not bookmarked til now) by searching for specific coats of arms of the World of Greyhawk. _________________

					Welcome to Canonfire! Odhanan/Ben.

Glad you finally decided to join us! We all look forward to your contributions, comments and participation in the forums.

And be forwarned: There are those among us who are always looking for someone to assist them in creating shields, or even a Coat of Arms!

See? You've already "put your foot in it," as they say.

So, again, welcome to Canonfire! And don't be a stranger. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Darn! Gotta be careful and watch my step, then!

Nah seriously: I'd be glad to help people who'd want some coat of arms for themselves. That'd be no problem.

I'll be no stranger. You'll of course have to pardon my French on occasion, since that is who I am... a Frenchman, that is. _________________

And those of us from Louisiana aren't?

Your "cousin" is living in "Arcadiana" even now! (That's northern Louisiana, by the way.)

At least you'll know how to pronounce Thibodeaux and Boudreaux!

Welcome aboard! _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Ah but that changes everything, then! No need to pardon my French after all!

I got some family near Baton Rouge. Haven't seen them for ages though. Last time we were reunited was close to twenty years ago, when they visited France on a trip to Europe. Was nice to meet the "Americans" we were hearing stories about when we were kids.

Gone a long way since then, living on the "new continent" myself and all. You would have told me I'd end up living in BC in the distant future when a young lad back in France, I wouldn't have believed it! Strange the way life unfolds sometimes, isn't it? _________________

As for me, my family hasn't lived in France since the days of my cousin -- Jean Lafitte. Yep, the pirate.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I'm now living in the Houston, TX area, though I'm currently back in New Orleans, doing some work on my Aunt's home.

I'll be back in Texas in another week, or so. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Yep! Sure am. And he was wronged by the U.S. Government.

During the War of 1812 he was promised a pardon for his aid against the British . . . he didn't get it.

When Andrew Jackson arrived in New Orleans, he had no flints for his flint-lock rifles, he had no bullets or gunpowder . . . Jean Laffite supplied him with all of that.

The British also approached Laffite and he played along, thus supplying Andrew Jackson with the British plan of attack.

Jean Laffite commanded 12 pirate vessels and these harrassed the British navy is support of Jackson.

In spite of all of this, Jean Laffite never got his pardon.

I am an American and served with the 82nd Airborne Division and think that American Democracy is the best thing going, but the U.S Government's officials and employees can be bastards when they want to be. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

					Welcome!

Nice job on the sheilds. Have you considered using a vector program like adobe illustrator or corel draw? Ive only recently started playing around with graphic design but Im enjoying it more than I thought I would.

I think that you'll really like it here. Ive found out more about my favorite campaign setting then I ever thought I would by visitng this forum and these guys are some of the most knowledgeable Hawkers you'll ever hope to find.

Mystic, I didnt know you lived in Houston, you, Icarus and I should go meet up for coffee or something sometime.
