Attached is an Outline of the GM Project. I am seeking help to start wrapping this project up. All volunteers welcome.

Each of the items is listed as having an author or particpant who is working on it. Many of these items will actually be one paragraph. Also, we have numerous works of art contributed, including new renditions of heraldry and the various gods symbols.

Also note that Yabusama has contributed the following Maps:

A complete statistical census is availalbe, in PDF format showing all races, ages, professions, class by race, race by barony, race by age, population, population by official census of all Marchers and all others. Also there is a complete tally of all monsters in the March.

“The Gran March Navy----------------------- Need Help?”

I do not mean to offend, but was that just to check to see if someone is reading you post, or is this serious?

I see that there is some discussion of a navy in the forum Greyhawk Military Ranks but it does not look specific to GM. I did not see anything on a navy in Hammarr_Jaerome’s military article on the GM site.

However, it is in actuality serious. The discussions that have been held involve a small riverboat navy that is basically used to chase smugglers. However, the "history," that was proposed (it may have been Samwise, or it may have been Hammar) was that the Rhola Family (traditionally the Admirals of the Keoish Navy) established the Gran March Navy through political machinations. This was for two reasons

1) they established flat bottom barge fleet that is sheltered in Lortenford and Melit's Wharf. The purpose of these barges was to allow the Keoish to summon Gran March troops very quickly. While the horse is faster, the river runs all night.

2) The Rhola, naturally distrustful of other political forces, wanted at least some political intelligence in their rivals (though friendly rivals) stronghold.

In our concept, the whole "navy," is now a series of offices and titles with a few token barges. The rest rotted away years ago.

Vormaerin is also considering doing an article, and Wolfsire has agreed to do some limited editing. GVD is going to co author a Calender/Holiday article.

Ok, GVD is writing the Holidays article (firepower is back and he can probably send over his word docs so you can cut and past the necessities out of the religion section.

Actually, we are going to post a few articles over the next few months as teaser articles. As you can tell, we are behind our original schedule. Also, if you have the inclination, pick another area and write up a short article.

There are several articles pending publication on the members area of the website, including the Census, the History of Shiboleth, the Gazateer entry for the Northern plains and the hsitory of Hookhill. The Hookhill article is actually a companion to Yab's maps and I hope to have it submitted by monday if i can get the editing done.

As to setting up the Knights of the Watch/Knights of Dispatch article, what current date should I be using as a point of reference? CY 596?

I have been using 593 CY, but there has been little reason to use any such date thus far, as I have been doing the history of various places. 596 CY actually sounds like a good date. Anyone have any thoughts or objections?

To me, any date from 587-596 is fine. I'd just like to know what the present day is, because it is very likely I would put something like this in my writing:

"In the present day, the Knights of the Watch are..."

A "current date" would be helpful for formulating certain things is all.

I would like to advance the "official," calender as little as possible with this text, so lets use 593 CY. In the campaign arc to come later, this will be advanced, but will allow the characters to help shape some of the events.
