Using the Kaorti

I was rereading my Fiend Folio and was really wanting to use these guys for something. Does anyone have ideas on where Cysts may be located and what they would be up to on Oerth?

A kaorti appears in "Shadow of the Abyss" in Dungeon #118, which is set in Istivin. A kaorti cyst can always be placed in a convenient nearby dungeon level, where they busily warp the nearby monsters with their aberrant arts in preparation for an invasion of the surface. For some reason, I think Castle Maure would be a particularly good link; I can imagine members of the Maure family interacting with or even becoming the (first?) kaorti. I can also imagine an alliance with the Egg of Coot in Blackmoor.

Now extinct, my fish hags were a creation of the kaorti. A parthenogenetic race, they were born pregnant. They were wiped out in a great war against sea hags and shellycoats.
