    Who is Kwalish?

Is there any mention of "Kwalish" in D&D besides the Apparatus of Kwalish?

Is there some canon description of who he is/was?

LGJ #5 has a gazetteer of Zeif by Fred Weining that has an entry for Kwalish. Paraphrased, it says he was an inventor who lived in Zeif 400 y.o.
His workshop, The Arm of Kwalish stands on an inaccessible rocky pillar off the coast much like Tenser's castle does. His works can be found throughtout Zeif and abroad. These include murals, bas relief, sculptures and his mechanical inventions. He also designed something called the "Dome of the Reef" for the leader of the mermen.

He sounds like a Di Vinci type to me.
