i was thinking on a adventure were the PCs help Tenser and the other guys in the famous battle against robilar forces after he freed Zuggtmoy.
if i remember, theres a article or post by Rob Kuntz saying the size of his army, and i even asked him at Dragonsfoot on "what would Robilar do?".
but any opinions here are very welcome!
-forces of good, forces of robilar
-how would you DM a adventure like that?
-some percursions (is that a word?:P), like, robilar becoming a enemy to them (i dont intend to kill him, so he must scape)
also, Castle Robilar had a name?
any product or article that helps getting info about his castle "pre- and post" battle?

I once began writing an adventure path I was going to name War of the Eight where Mordy and Rary get down to business. I never finished (or really began) but I did have plans to take down Robilar midway through the series.

There was a good Living Greyhawk column written about Robilar and his lands. You can find it here. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg/lgmp/20080109a
I think it may contradict Robert J. Kuntz though. One of the early Oerth Journals mentioned it too. I think it may have been #7 or #8.
Hope this helps...
Damien.

You can also find some relevant information in Dragon Magazine #37, including listings of the military forces available to Tenser, Robilar, Bigby, Erac's Cousin, and Mordenkainen.

There is a lot of information on Robilar's military forces, including his household guard in the 2nd edition supplement, Rary the Traitor. It may be a few years later than the time frame you were looking at but it's still a good bit of information. I have often thought about doing an adventure based on his old castle outside of Greyhawk, but have never gotten around to it. Looking forward to more discussion on this topic.

yes, a adventure based on robilar ruined castle was what started this idea for me, and i prefer that to mine idea of attacking it, but my timeline wont allow, ehehehe

Rob Kuntz is supposed to be in the process of writing a largish book about Robilar, including retellings of his adventures, commentary from the original campaign, and tons of other details. Of course, he's not likely to release it soon enough to do you any good in your campaign, but it's something to look forward to anyway. Perhaps things could be pushed along if he got enough inquiries about it on his website.

I'll have to dig, rossik, but IIRC, Rob and I have talked about publishing his castle at some point, so he must still have the notes on it. I can also check my copy of his PC sheet, to see if there's anything else useful on there about the castle, henchmen, etc. _________________ Allan Grohe (grodog@gmail.com)

not exactly what i was expecting for, but still great info:
"Hey Rossik,
Actually, and without knowing the exact details of the planned scenario, I cannot offer specific tips to playing Robilar. He uses his ring of invisibility and elven boots to sneak about and his extra strength to block and confound, his attack order is spellcasters first and always.
Hope this helps.
RJK"

Some preliminary digging didn't turn up Robilar's PC sheet, so I'll have to go pull it off the shelf tomorrow. I did find info on Terik's Tower, so I think that's likely what I was thinking of---I'm pretty sure that Robilar's Castle wasn't sold by Rob, now that I think more about it. _________________ Allan Grohe (grodog@gmail.com)
