hi there!
I was looking for a map and description of verbobonc and found a nice doc from banesfinger, but without the map. I read a lot about this map and found many links, but they are all not working anymore (most were several years old). Could anybody help me to get this map, please?
20 years ago (real time) I started as a young fighter my first adventure (ToEE) near Homlet and Verbobonc. Now I want to start a campagne with some d&d rookies at the same place and time. Therefor this map would be perfekt...
Thanks for any help

Please read the main Forum section descriptions to see where different types of threads should be posted.
As there is no review of any material going on here, the thread is being moved to World of Greyhawk Discussion. _________________ - Moderator/Admin (in some areas)/Member -

I always liked this "3D" map of Verbobonc.

That 3D map rocks! Who is responsible for that?? And how can I convince them to finish it in colour?
I love the look of the Viscount's castle. For some reason though I thought that massive cathedral might have belonged to St. Cuthbert, not Trithereon. Maybe it's because Bishop Haufren seems to be such an influence on the Viscounty...

Oh, and can anybody give me some background on the ruined school of elemental magic? I wonder if they had any links to Furyondian Chamber of Four?
Again, cracker of a map.

In the 2D map above, the cathedral is Pelor's. Trithereon doesn't seem the type of god to have cathedrals.

LOL Go Mighty Ducks!
(3D Map location D2)
I like both of those maps as they show Verbobonc on the river, which makes sense.
There is a map given in WG8 (Fate of Istus) that places the city on the plains overlooking the river.
I think I would probably keep the working class and trading establishments by the river, and move the castle, barracks, and wealthy residences up the hill. _________________ My campaigns are multilayered tapestries upon which I texture themes and subject matter which, quite frankly, would simply be too strong for your hobbyist gamer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Mp7Ikko8SI

That's interesting, Rasgon. Whoever did the 3D map did indeed place the church of Trithereon where the 2D mapper placed the burned cathedral of Pelor. They also placed the church of Pelor where the church of Trithereon was...
Probably a simple human error.

I'm pretty sure that the 3D map started out in some book on Medieval history, and simply got scanned and edited to include a few Greyhawkian features. Perhaps "Cathedral" by David Macaulay, but I don't have the book in front of me.
If not, it's certainly an impressive piece of fan work!

Glancing through the associated pdf, I'm guessing the guy who numbered the 3D map changed it to fit his own campaign: http://cringinggoblin.wikispaces.com/Verbobonc

Here's a map of Verbobonc more compatible with the versions in Fate of Istus and Vecna Lives!: http://www.mediafire.com/?ydmt0kjtdvw
It comes from the Living Verbobonc website.
