Edit: I just saw that Eric Anondsons map had Ankheg Springs a bit more south, and another place called Nebjanow Mines. It seems to be a LG addon.

Awesome map! Sorry for my delayed response, just saw the PM.

Yes, I modified Eric's map based on Living Greyhawk settings, etc. I believe that my version of his map indicates this in some text near the scale bar to help avoid confusion.

Fantastic work Anna - I can't keep up at the moment; I have been wasting my time on the final part of my cheesy Star Trek comic-book style story on Youtube, which I should finish Monday or Tuesday next week. I'm still on County of Urnst year 2 as far as LG goes and I rhink it will take me another 2 weeks or so to wade through what's left. Mind you, it looks like everybody else is on the ball - great work everyone Happy

I'll be back on task next week hopefully. You're making incredible progress - your ascent to godhood is assured!

I'm starting a campaign in the Lendore Isles - yep the "L" series! Sure would like to see you work your map magic on that region, Anna! All in due time, I guess, eh?

Indeed. Anna, when you're ready to map Lendore Isle, I can probably put you in touch with Len Lakofka. I'm sure he'd be as impressed with your mapping skills as the rest of us.

First a preview of what I'm working on at the moment area 75:

A larger version can be found here: http://ghmaps.net/previews/Sq75v01.jpg

This is a very early version with lots of things missing but I wanted you to have a look and be able to stop me if I'm heading in the wrong direction somewhere, the Ahlissans aren't that talkative and there are plenty to see scattered all over the place Wink

First the proposals to move west are noted Ragr and Hegeknight Smile

Paul I must say the same about your work!
What you do with Urnst might come in handy quite soon since I have an idea, I'll contact you with the details. I have seen the surface demo and I love the concept, that is the way I have always wanted to play D&D.

DMPrata if you could get Len Lakofka's input on Lendore Isle that would be awesome, thank you in advance for bringing it up Smile

Thanks again for all your help everyone Exclamation

I'm working full time on my mapping and there are lots of things in the pipeline bot in the near future: more area maps. A bit further into the future: "Enhanced" realm maps. The longer future: location maps of cities and other famous and unknown gems of the Flanaess.

Now I'm starting to have both the time, skill and confidence to make what I envisioned many years ago and I'm having a blast doing it. Happy

    A few thoughts, Anna:
    • It doesn't look like squares 62 & 75 line up. Where's Chathold? Where's Goldbolt? Where's Oldridge?
    • The correct spellings are "Kalstrand" and "Capital Principality".
    • I believe Molnar should be north of Pitchfield, on the road to Kalstrand, along the western edge of the Glorioles.
    • LG Sunndi had a village in The Downs called Axebjerg, roughly midway between Hexpools and Kalstrand.
    • What are your sources for most of the Ahlissan place names? The only one I found is the "fanon" Arogaz Avon. I don't recognize the others, like Chirton, Anital Salay, and Ilahzdruk.

    Thanks SirXaris :)

DMPrata, what would I do without you! ;)

You bring up some great thoughts and I'll try and answer them all.

The ruins of Chathold and Goldbolt moved up to area 62, but I forgot to upload the new version. I have now done so and they are back again more where they should be. Oldridge will be on the edge of area 76, but Rasfern have been placed on 75.

Kalstrand and the Captial Principality are hopefully spelled correctly in the latest update.

Blacksplinter got misplaced in one of my early prerelease versions and I forgot to put it back. It is now back and have changed from being a stopover on the road to Rel Deven to the lair of a necromancer-vampire-prince cloaked in dark magic and undeath.

I added Axebjerg, thanks again for the info!

A lot of the Ahlissan names comes from Scott Casper's article in OJ16. There are some contradictions that I have tried to work out. My only addition is the Vidvolp residential Capital of Balemar named after the original landholder Waldgraf Balemar Cranden. The county needed a residential settlement so I gave it a name from local history and placed it at a road crossing.

Area 62 have been updated to match area 75.

So a "new" release: area 87.

The area got covered in my Naerie map so therefore I haven't bothered making the mostly sea area of 87. But in order to make area 88 it was best to have it done. I found some errors on the Naerie map so it has been updated as well.

Large versions in jpg and pdf are available at http:/ghmaps.net

Time for another release, area 88!

Sunndi seem to be a country with more geographical features than any one I have mapped so far. Especially the Vast swamp required a lot of work, but I'm pleased with the result. This is an initial release so please check it, you know my spelling Wink

You can download jpg and pdf versions here: http://ghmaps.net/sq88.html

The eastern Sunndi will be ready soon.

I was viewing my crystal ball earlier today and noticed a rather large, auburn colored mass growing in size, appearing to loom over the entire city of Greyhawk . . .

And then I noticed that the auburn colored mass was, in reality, hair. It was at that point that I came to the realization that the growing mass was just Anna's swelling head. ROFL

Love you Anna. And I had already dubbed you Goddess of Geography. So demi-goddess is a step down. ;)

Keep them coming love. And I'm still waiting for the Yeomanry. ;)

(Hmm, suddenly, my emoticons aren't working. Guess I should send a complaint to myself and look into it! :D )

Anna, have you seen this map from LG Sunndi? They placed several more settlements along the Pawluck River. Also, there's no label for the northernmost village on your map (below the "to Molnar" tag). Is that meant to be Dunn, perhaps?

Ditto (on both counts Smile ). Based on the Darlene hex coordinates, the Tomb of Horrors should be about 90 miles south of Nondrinn.

I have notes from LG Dullstrand about several settlements on the east coast, but, alas, I didn't archive their original maps, and their wiki is no more. Sad

First the Tomb of horrors: I used the placement from the Paizo Dungeon magazine maps, which put it where the Corul river joins the Vast Swamp or there abouts. The Sunndi triad maps are detailed but have a some details wrong so I relied on the Paizo map. I'm not saying it's right but that's how I came up with the location.

The links to the updated versions of area 75 and 88 are now correct, thank you for pointing it out!

    Dullstrand!
Those maps are great, and I assume they are LG or what do they come from? If they are LG I have to rework the Dullstrand area to include all the material, great work!

Are those really named the "Cairn Hills"? I know it's common in real life to have place names repeated all over, but for a fictitious realm, why copy a name from elsewhere?

    Observation and Comments

    Anna,
as many have already conveyed... BRAVO.
After stumbling into your site, and thus being led here and reading the entire thread I have found it entertaining, informative and constructive. for that I thank you and your supporters.
As a DM and long time fan of Greyhawk, I am glad to see there are others that want to keep it alive. I began my campaign some 30 plus years ago, and after a 6 year subbatical, I and my PC's are reunited and anxious to begin again, and its great to do so with the fond details you have wove for all to enjoy.
As for those that quible over the exacting locale , while its nice to have continuity, I think some get a bit tooo "anal" and loose focus of the beauty of the forest for the single tree. In my world, part of the inconsistancies that have always existed ( and will continue to exist) due to multiple fingers in the "pie" can and should be roleplayed away.
I would hope instead of GPS accurate coordinates , for more usuable items such as
a> an index here or on your site defining the latest map rev (notice your file name has, but not really collectively displayed)
b> a separate layer to toggle a grid system off / on
c> an index to quickly find locales (maybe based on the grid?)
d> if not a grid perhaps an edge key (like modern mapping, A15 etc)
    just thoughts.
Lastly if if there is some research, etc that I can be supportive in your efforts I am happy to do so. Wink
    Keep up the great work

I'm honored by your interest and praize Dark_lord_Galen and cawdmorris :)

I agree with you about not squabble too much about locations. The various sources are often inconclusive so in some cases I just had to choose (hopefully wisely ) where to put things.

I'll look into a version registry, it will be another thing to update but might be helpful enough.

Gridsystem: I'm going to introduce a grid-system. The idea I have is to split each area into 16 pieces and name them something like Area number, Row number, Square number. For example: 76R4S1. I'll look into that when I have mapped more of the Flanaess, and my work has been quality checked by you experts.

An index is something I will start doing when I have nothing else to do ;) It is a very good idea that I have thought about for quite some time. It would be a great resource to have an place index with stats like population, alignment, defenses etc. There are some work being done already not complete though and sometimes questionable research. If someone could start on it and post the updates on Canonfire would be great!

Another thing I will need help with are to research Bissel, Grand March and Ket. Polular demand seem to be for me to start mapping those areas. So to speed it by weeks would be if someone could make a simple sketch map and a list of things to be in the area. Comments of the nature of the lands would also be of great help. Sources listed along with the sketches and lists would make it perfect.

So on to a new release: Area 76

    High res versions available here:
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq76v1.jpg
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq76v1.pdf

It is a somewhat shaky initial release, due to the amount of material available for the area I'm not certain I have covered everything and got it right. So please check it extra carefully!

I have added some additional heraldry of my own design. This is a test and I have tried to be as faithful to the sources as possible so please give your comments in the separate thread I have started: http://www.canonfire.com/cf/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=46135#46135

Thanks again for all your help!

I don't see the Belching Vortex of Leuk-O (LGJ#1) on your map of the Hestmark Highlands.

    Very pretty map, though.

I will try and get a hold of LG journal #1 and #2 I have the rest. Then I'll read the article and see if I can place the Belching Vortex.

    Spelling will be corrected!

A new version will come soon.

Anna, I'm hoping to have the bulk of the LG County of Urnst notes done by the end of this week. The official LG map isn't bad actually and seems to have most key locations on it, depending on whether you also want to add farmsteads, shrines, and landmarks.

As I'm going alphabetically, the next region will be the Duchy of Urnst.

An updated version of area 76 available: http://ghmaps.net/sq76.html

Great news Paul, your help are invaluable!

I have read the huge document you put together on Ahlissa and the North Kingdom several times (probably three or four by now Wink

Urnst is a good candidate for a special treatment, we have to look into that.

In the mean time I'll continue my work in the former Great Kingdom with eastern Adri and the North Kingdom, plus a special study of Aerdy heraldry.

As always many thanks for your help!

I think Aerdy has a couple of LG regions although the Adri is in German so that will be quite a task to translate and I was planning to leave it to last. If anybody else wants to volunteer to gather up and translate the info any help will be appreciated - same for Ekbir (French).

If you want me to skip my alphabet and do the Aerdy regions next I can do that, although I expect you will long since have finished mapping the region long before I finish, especially with meta-regionals to wade through too.

    Dear Lady.
The praise pales in comparison to your efforts and talents.
I have a "registry" of sorts developed in an Excel Spreadsheet, this could be easily linked to a page on your web to auto update (area page perhaps?)
I agree w/ the format for the grid. Simple, direct and easily universal.
On to the index, I did find an excel sheet that had a good start for towns and coinage (setanta? authored) would like to expand / assist on this, but not sure the path forward ( ie this thread? converse with setanta?) input from all would be helpful.

Lastly, on the populations and research, what is the time line? are the numbers to be based on pre war, post war, etc?

I've gotten a lot of use out of these spectacular maps, so the least I can do is provide a little data. I was active in Gran March back in the LG days, and have found maps for both GM and Bissel back in the archives. Nothing for Ket, though, sorry!

If there are any other regions for which you'd like LG maps, let me know; if they exist, I probably have copies of them somewhere.

    Gran March
Note 1: The names in gray are the baronies of the March; they're hard to read, so here they are from right to left, top to bottom: Malthinius, Dracus, Cavintus, Cragmor, Harvon, Promanshire, Manthus, Farvale, Shiboleth, Dieren.
Note 2: The map shows Hochoch as part of the Gran March; it technically belongs in Geoff, but (at least in LG canon) came under Gran March control some time between 591 and 602 CY (I can probably track down the exact dates if it will make a difference).

Paul, I just took a first look at your Urnst compilation, it's a another great work of yours. I'll study it and update my maps to match, thank you! Smile

You don't need to change the way you work. I'll can update the maps as I work through the material.

Why not use the Greyhawk wiki as a settlement registry and that way keep it accessible and it is possible to add details on any of the things in the registry. Some of the places exist there already, make a summary page with links to details will make it more useful perhaps. I have a spreadsheet to and its fairly up to date (LG I mean). I have tried to base my maps on post war LG.

That is my only criticism of Canonfire, there are so much content but it is not organized to be useful and easy to find. I know that is hard to accomplish. The wiki is a great start and one of the things I will try and do is to make special versions of my maps to suit the articles if there is an interest. But I have to make the maps first Wink

A grid system is something I will try and work into my maps when I'm ready for my wall map. So it will probably take a year or so. But now things are starting to move forward more steady and I'm starting to see that I will be able to map the Flanaess.

Bissel and Grand March maps, lovely!

I had versions or similar maps but not of this good quality, thank you bschoner Smile

Thanks again for all your help.

Thaks Anna - because I kept as many maps as I could the document was huge so I had to split it into two but I'm now trying to make it easier for you to spot the location headers in amongst the 500 pages of notes! I hope both reached reached you ok.

I think uploading stuff to the wiki is prabably a good idea once it is collated, perhaps with separate links for players and DMs. I think I will also strip out as much edition-specific information as possible.

The really difficult thing is to manage the module-specific information because a big chunk of it relates to ongoing (and sometimes secret) plot threads that develop over several years.

Given that most people diverge from 'canon' in their home campaigns it's probably a good idea to include it in the DMs' section and let them decide if they want to use any of it in their home campaigns.

There are also Yabusama's maps from the Gran March Project, though I don't know how much they draw on existent material(from canon or LGG). You may find them HERE. There is access to the maps in a larger size, though that requires a permission(I have it myself, but it is not mine to give unfortunately).

    I haven't been on Canonfire in a while... That's why I haven't already said:

Anna, you effing rock!!!! Thank you for getting to Sunndi. :)

Here's a link to the Sunndi map I've been using. I took the LG one posted previously , threw it through CC3 and added any towns and such that I could find in the LG materials and modules for Sunndi, Dulstrand and Naerie (plus a town of my own creation: Staug, the hometown on some of the PCs in my game). Some of the locations were not shown on maps, so I tried my best with their placement given the textual descriptions.

Because it's still a work in progress, it doesn't include locations from some older sorces (like Skull City from Return to the Tomb of Horrors). Still, I hope it helps. :)[/url]

Great to read all your encouragements!

Sorry for my late update having two other projects that took up most time last week.

Paul keep doing what you do since you do it so well, I'm still going over the documents you have sent me in the past and finding new goodies. Smile

My maps are based in the post war Flanaess of the Living Greyhawk campaign, some time after CY590. I forgot to add it in my last post.
The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is the most comprehensive source of population figures, so a good start would be to list all its information.

Argon, Paul is working hard on his divinity Wink

Yabusama's maps are great, among the best made for Greyhawk IMHO. Since I have been active for a long time and been able to work on my talents and abilities I have been able to acquire the maps, don't ask me how Wink

The ones are of medium resolution big enough to barely read the smallest text. So are they canon, LG or some sort of homebrew?

    Great maps Azzy, thanks! Smile

I will reupdate the Dullstrand area acoring to the proper LG data I know have, a new version will be published soon.

So on to some new maps, area 35!

    High-res versions here:
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq35v1.jpg
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq35v1.pdf

I received some good research and a plea to cover what is left of the Duchy of Tehn. So I took some time and came up with this. Please check it since there are probably still errors to be found by you exhalted Greyhawk experts!

Updated versions of areas 47 and 48 can be found here
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq47v12.jpg
    http://ghmaps.net/areamaps/Sq48v12.jpg

These maps match the new area 35. When you start with a small update you soon find lots of new material you missed before.

    Now I'm off to Dullstrand!

Nothing short of razing Elmshire will grant me apotheosis. Volunteers welcome. Otherwise I'm content to remain the quasi-deity of mis-pronounciation, and possibly toilet humour - are there any other areas not already taken?

I've started the Duchy of Urnst but the maps in the folders don't look as complete or as easy to read as the County maps. I'll try to get it done by November!

Hi Anna! Great work as always, I feel like a kid on christmas when you have a new map up 8)

Only one thing has stood out for me as incorrect with the Area 35 map, you have the capital of Stonehold as Vleekstad, according to my sources the proper name is Vlekstaad.

Thank you for keeping the Flanaess looking better and better!

Another of my over frequent typos, both from lack of spelling ability and eagerness to get it done I guess.

My Rel Deven Campaign map is beginning to take shape!

I have made a campaign map with lots of extra details that I'm taking the liberty to share with you.

High res version can be found here: http://ghmaps.net/campaignmaps/Rel_Deven_CMv3.jpg

I have added details of what is left of old Almor and Prince Ferrenan of Blancksplinter's land has got two additions in the form of the lair of Ratukazh Darkspike, a black Dragon that the Vampire prince have made to lair in his lands. Ishma is a hag who leads a cabal of her kin. I gave the bastard prince of the house of Rax a shield he uses to try and gain recognition.

We have a face off between the Paladin Karn Serrand and the Vampire Necromancer Prince Ferrand. To make things complicated they cant resort to open warfare since they both have a superior who will crush the winner of such a contest. So they are jabbing each other for now.

In the vicinity are Prince Valeran of Ralsand who are scheming to outmanouver Karasin of Innspa for the control of Jennden and the east of old Almor.

Xavener and Grenell are the big dogs positioning themselves to be able to determine who will Rule the Aredy.

Then we have Duke Szeffrin and what might become of him if he comes out winning the struggle in Rauxes, even a Vampire who fear nothing have nightmares of the Revenge of the Duke ;)

There you have the backdrop of my campaign. The circles are overland movement references.

    A few notes, Anna:
    • There should be a small settlement called Tinker's Cove north of Fort Bredivan, per the LG Ratik map. (I can send you a copy if you don't have it.)
    • The small settlement west of Ratikhill is spelled Aurichold.
    • The castle of the death knight Lord Monduiz Dephaar should be "somewhere in the eastern Blemu Hills," per LGJ #7. I placed it across the Teesar from the Highlander Castles, northeast of where you located the Ripper Mines.

One more, Anna, though it's slightly dubious: King of the Dead mentions a village called Stulwick. I placed it on the east bank of the Teesar, about 60 miles northwest of Stringen and 30 miles northeast of Castle Blemu. Maybe rasgon can pop in and give us a more authoritative placement. Wink

    Area 50 Version 3

Lord Dephaar have staked out his territory and the Village of Stulwick is placed along the Teesar. I've also corrected the map guide arrows at the bottom.

Just wanted to say these are beautiful. Excellent work. Any chance on letting us know when Area 36 is coming up? My current campaign is set in the Dutchy of Tenh and Theocracy of the Pale, so you've already covered the rest!

    Thanks you masterarminas Smile

I'm working on area 36 right now. It has a lot of mountains so it will take a little bit of time to get it all in place. I will hopefully have at least a preview out next week.

This really is an awesome project, Anna. I've been reviewing the overall area map(the one with the hot-links to each area) on your site, and you've got 27 sections of 117 done now. Considering that a bunch of those sections are mostly water or desert, you really are about 25% done with the more complex areas, and it all just looks amazing. Cool

With each section printed out on 8.5" x 11" paper, the entire map would be 9 feet and 2.5 inches wide, and 8 feet and 4 inches tall. At that scale, people will need a "war room" to display the thing properly across an entire wall. It would probably would be easiest to have custom "Anna's World of Greyhawk Map" wallpaper made instead, and just cover the walls of the entire room in it! Happy

My room is already underway!!! (hence the resorting of the Dragon Mags Big C)
One wall will be my Anna Shrine!!! haha
the other is to house 3k minis.... might have to reinforce that one!

Great to see your interest and enthusiasm!! Smile

Yes it will be a big wall map, I have started to think about size and scale etc. The possible print size is a max height of 105 inches and then whatever length needed to make room for the whole map, this is what is possible to print on the largest ink-jet printers I know of. So there will be a chance to have a whole wall covered by a Greyhawk wall map - I have a wall already picked out!

The cost of such a print will be expensive to say the least, so I'm thinking on making various sizes to make it possible for more people to be able to afford a print. It would be great to be able to make a real offset print run but that is expensive to set up and I don't think WotC would approve of it either..lol. So it will have to be "personal prints" printed and sold individually (maybe even singed ;).

But we aren't there yet, there are more work to be done first. Here is preview of the next step:

    High res: http://ghmaps.net/previews/Sq37v01.jpg

After this there are ONLY Wink most of the Empire of Iuz, eastern parts of Aerdy lands, the peninsulas of Thillonrian and Tilvanot, large parts of the Sheldomar Valley, Ket and the Baklunish west, Barbarians of the north west and the south west wastelands. Not much I'll do it in a year or two and looking forward to all great things to experience on my journey.

Thanks again for all your help and support!!

    HUGE fan here :)

One minor nitpick, The City/Fortress of Spinecastle in Map 50 is supposed to be basically blocking the Kalmar Pass and the depiction in Map 50 makes it look like it's just in the lower foothills and easily bypassed.

If you're in it again, is it possible to add a bit more high terrain around it? I certainly would welcome any feedback on this, especially if I'm in the minority on this view.

My campaign area has been the Bone March (mostly Knurl area the last two parties) and my next reboot will probably see the new PCs as the first generation of humans born-in-captivity in the humanoid occupied former capital city and I'd love to showcase your lovely maps!

I have to agree with Ashur that, if Spinecastle is supposed to be the actual fortress barrier blocking access to the pass, it isn't realistically capable of doing so with about 20-25 miles worth of passable terrain surrounding it. Raising the hieght of the hills east and west of Spincastle's location would fix that.

On the other hand, it is also reasonable that Spinecastle is the seat of the lord of the region and the actual fortification that the area's military uses to block the pass is about forty miles northwest of Spinecastle proper. At that point, the pass is so narrow that it could easily be blocked by a small force of armed defenders or a short wall. Spinecastle would simply be the county seat responsible for supplying the soldiers in the northern keep.

I haven't researched Spinecastle references sufficiently to know which scenario is intended to be the accurate one.

Dungeon #148 has an adventure (co-authored by Gary Holian) placed in the Bone March and Spinecastle, and along with great background and current information on the localities, has a map of the city of Spinecastle.

It shows the city as a 45% wedge, bordered on the north by two cliffs forming a / \ and an arcing wall covering the southern approaches from the Parlous Plain. The northern cliffs are separated by a pass leading north, where the actual fortress of Spinekeep is built, shielding the city from any invasion from the north. My thought would be that the mountains can only be crossed through the Kalmar Pass, explaining the money and men the Aerdi expended building Spinekeep and Spinecastle in the first place.

Its a very good slice of life in the Bone March and the intertribal politics of that land, I suggest everyone give it a read!

Greta research, now I know what I will read tonight Smile

I will read through the adventure and then update my map, might be more than Spinecastle that needs a tweak. Thanks a lot for bringing this up!

So its time to show my latest work - Area 37!

It covers a large part of the Kingdom of Fruztii and part of Ratik around the city of Marner.

I've read through "Shadows of Spinecastle" and I must say I love it - good work Gary Holian!

I found some more places (now ruined) mentioned so it took me the liberty of placing them as well.

That is just awesome Anna! Beautiful work!

There's a hobgoblin occupied fortress somewhere in the area as well, but only the illustrious Pluffett Smedger knows where. :)

    "Ferendar Keep
Two day's march east of Spinecastle stands a smaller fortress, one of many that fell in the early days of the invasion before the final siege. Ferendar Keep is currently home to the Shining Spear Hobgoblins..."

    Thank you!!

I couldn't let Pluffett be the only one knowing, so with the help of my friend Silvara (a VERY old Silver Dragon ;) I managed to scout out the terrain east of Spinecastle.

On the way back I used my "Map on the Move" Feat to update area 50 to version 7 which includes Ferendar Keep!

Assuming that marching = about 20 miles/day, that should put it somewhere around hex S1-65/66 on the Paizo map. Put another way, it would be either north or south of Cadmil on Anna's map. The fortress being near/on a river makes sense too.

I took the state of disrepair of the Bone March roads into account when I calculated the distance.

I reviewed the thread a bit, and you put out around 13 maps in 2011! Great work! Anna- enriching the Greyhawk community, one map section at a time. I think that says it all. Cool

    Thanks Cebrion!! Smile

My goal was to publish at least one new map per month and I succeeded. so to celebrate that hard work I have been working really hard for a time to make something special for Needfest!

Needfest special - Map of the Central Flanaess!

Here is a big map covering all of the area I've mapped and then some. It is a preview with some work left to do. So please tell me all the errors you see.

I've introduced a new border type - Frontier borders: It is shown as a dotted line with less dots. It is used when there is a realm that borders wilderness or other ungoverned area not claimed or controlled by any type of ruler.

I'm going to polish the looks of this map in Photoshop once more before it is finished, so I want to try and weed out as many faults as possible before then.

Many times have I been asked to make a map like this, and I've said no, until now. I didn't feel like I had covered enough and wasn't even sure I could make the campaign map I had set out to. The last year I have worked really hard to try and make it come true, and now I have convinced even myself ;)

This is a test of my skills, workflow, software and hardware to see if all are up to the task. Moore's Law have been kind to me and it seem to work. My skills are beginning to match my ambitions so the time is right to make a first "full scale" test.

The map is 16 973 x 17 513 pixels and in 300dpi that will make it 56.6 x 58.4 inches. With some compression the JPEG weighs in at 50MB. This version is intended for digital use only and is not of print quality. But don't despair, my workflow is all using 4 times the resolution in order to be printable in high quality.

I'm sorry for my lack of updates but I wanted to get this done with as much detail as possible, and there are many hundreds of references on it, maybe even a couple of thousands.

high res JPEG are available here: http://ghmaps.net/bigmap/centflan03.zip

Thanks again for your great support!

A roadmap for 2012 will come soon.
