I just did a "plane travel" adventure. The players went from a magical portal from Crystalmist to Icewall Castle (from Dragonlance scenario) and then, back to Tovag Baragu.
They advanced a few months in time, so im about to start GH Wars plotline.
Any advice about side adventures? Just to get to new characters, maybe get better equipment...
My players have 4 fighters, a mage, a thief and a cleric, all 7-8 level (for AD&D 2ed, but i beleive system is irrelevant)

I9, Day of Al Akbar, takes place just east of Tovag Baragu. It is a full adventure, rather than a Side Trek, but it is just the right level for your party.
You might also check out Maldin's Greyhawk. He has an interesting story about how one of his parties touched off the Twin Cataclysms by traveling back in time via Tovag Baragu.
Also, there is Baronzemo's Rangor's Roving Rest article from Postfest XVII (Richfest 2012). It details a tavern that exists, sometimes, near Tovag Baragu.
