    The Bold & Divine

Referring to my earlier thread "Sotillion cheating on Zilchus with Olidammara?", I'd like to hear some ideas regarding interdeity relationships.

Assuming that the lovelife of deities is not static, what sort of drama could we have with the deities that would create interesting opportunities for adventure or generally spice up things in Oerth? :)

Mortellan touched on this here and there in his Greyhawk comic series, I'm sure he's got at least a few ideas to share ;)

Nerull kidnaps Atroa. Telchur continues to reign indefinitely until the goddess of spring is rescued from the underworld.

Beory begins a relationship with Rao. Their respective planets (Rao is a gas giant, probably the same as Edill in Greyspace) begin to move alarmingly close together.

Norebo wants out of his relationship with Bralm when he finds out what happens to drones after they mate with the insect queen. He escapes to Oerth and begins to desperately search for a replacement mate for Bralm among NPCs and PCs alike, even venturing into the Abyss and stirring up the various demon lords of insects, but Bralm will not be denied. The Abyssal lords rise in wrath, and Baalzebul expresses discontent at not being considered.

Wee Jas, jealous of Norebo's affair with Bralm, begins a relationship with the prim and proper Pholtus. The god of the sun and moons gifts Wee Jas with a ruby moon of her own, which the guild of wizards hires the PCs to teleport over there and make a map of.

Zuggtmoy demands that Iuz rid his court of all his concubines and mistesses. Many of them are demons, and suddenly they're loose on the Oerth.

Joramy, feeling lonely and jealous, decides to break up Pholtus and Wee Jas, causing the ruby moon to erupt in molten lava, threatening the moon's inhabitants.

Pyremius decides to pursue Joramy romantically, but she rejects his advances. He begins murdering and poisoning people to get her attention.

Ralishaz starts offering everyone golden apples that read 'FOR THE FAIREST.'

Syrul disguises herself as Mayaheine and begins a romantic relationship with Heironeous. The real Mayaheine is imprisoned on a jungle world under the guardianship of the Olman pantheon.

Celestian begins dating an inconceivable horror from the Far Realm, who devours stars and drives worlds into madness whenever it's in town.

Obad-hai dates Titania, queen of the Seelie Court, and Oberon transforms his head into the head of a donkey (apparently the other word for this animal is censored on these boards). This is embarrassing enough that druids hire adventurers to get the curse lifted. Titania is still madly in love with Obad-hai, causing unrest in the faerie court as her courtiers contemplate replacing their queen with another who is not in love with a donkey.

Raxivort begins an affair with Luthic, the orcish mother-goddess. War begins between the orcs and xvarts when this is discovered.

Osprem begins dating Deep Sashelas, the elven sea-god. Xerbo begins creating storms that wreck merchant-ships and bring oceanic trade to a standstill. Deep Sashelas's wife, the dolphin goddess Trishina, decides to lead her people away from the world entirely. All dolphins vanish, leaving behind a single note: So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Myrhiss begins dating Kurell. Kurell is so happy he no longer wants to steal. Thieves' guilds begin going out of business.

Berei is cast from the heavens after Velnius elevates a beautiful youth to be his cupbearer and gives him Berei's old throne. Berei wanders the Oerth disguised as an old woman, rewarding those who show her hospitality.

Sixin, god of xills, lays an egg inside Wastri.

Ssendam, slaad lord of madness, lays an egg inside Sixin.

Wastri lays an egg in a pond.

St. Cuthbert dates Lirr and has to pretend to be able to understand and appreciate her art. He visits a PC bard (or prominent NPC bard who ropes the PCs into helping her babysit a panicked deity) and asks for advice in aesthetics so that Lirr doesn't realize he's an uncultured philistine and dump him.

Bleredd creates an automaton or living sculpture to be his perfect woman. Ulaa is not happy about this; earthquakes and avalanches are signs of her displeasure. And what if the automaton develops free will? Meanwhile, the gnomish pantheon is excited at the news that Ulaa is suddenly single.

Olidammara dares Rudd to go on three dates with Incabulos; if she succeeds in doing so without dying, he'll give her his celestial palace. She accepts the dare, and both Rudd and the world must endure the three bride-gifts that Incabulos offers her. For if Rudd will not accept the gifts of sin, plague, and nightmare, the world must.

With Bensozia dead, Asmodeus scours the worlds for a new bride, looking to ensnare would-be wives in Faustian bargains first.

Boccob and Lydia challenge each other to a game. The one to show the other the most obscure knowledge and lore wins dominion over magic. They send the PCs and a rival party to various times, planes, and places throughout the multiverse to gather secrets for them.

Procan has three thousand eligible daughters (and sons) whom he would like to marry off. Unfortunately, he's an overprotective father, and the PCs may not want him looking over their shoulders. When one of his girls signs a Faustian pact with Asmodeus, Procan wants someone to find a way to nullify it.

Lendor mates with the Great Mother of the beholders, spawning a family of beholder demigods with the same spheres of influence as the existing Suel pantheon, determined to replace their humanoid counterparts.

Pelor and Tharizdun consider maybe they left things too hastily and maybe they should give their relationship another chance. The other gods panic because this would almost certainly result in the end of the universe.

I hope you didn't spend too much time writing that draft of the Greyhawk Social Wars premier episode, Rasgon. Razz
