Is there actually anything in Storm King's Thunder that connects/references/relates to GDQ1-7, or is it listed here simply because it involves giants and was inspired by the earlier work?

    G4+

I'm not familiar with those later G modules. I'm familiar with G456789 from RC Pinnell.

I'm also familiar with D4, T5, and Q2 by Joseph Bloch.

These guys were not employees of TSR or WotC.

For Joe "greyhawk grognad" Bloch :

Adventure Module G1A – Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, the Lower Caverns
Adventure Module D4 – City of Spiders
Adventure Module Q2 – Web of Souls

T0 and T5 have been mentioned for the ToEE and the Elemental Evil.

If you're going to include Storm King's Thunder, then perhaps the 3.5 adventure Expedition to the Demonweb Pits by Wolfgang Baur and Gwendolyn F.M. Kestrel should, arguably, also be added to the list? https://www.dmsguild.com/product/54341/Expedition-to-the-Demonweb-Pits-35?term=expedition+to+the+demonweb+

The 3.5 sourcebook Drow of the Underdark details the city of Erelhei-Cinlu: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/54308/Drow-of-the-Underdark-35?term=drow+of+the+underdark

And, if I'm not mistaken, the 2E Planescape adventure Dead Gods touches briefly on the aftermath of the GDQ series in the Vault of the Drow.

WotC also published a number of 3.0 web supplements clearly inspired by the G and D series modules (see, for example, The Crumbling Hall of the Frost Giant and Test of the Demonweb):

    https://www.dmsguild.com/product/178243/Test-of-the-Demonweb-30?src=also_purchased

There may be more that I'm overlooking.

EDIT: The 2E Night Below boxed set by Carl Sargent is also a great source of inspiration, as is DMGR4 Monster Mythology.

Thanks TwiceBorn. The first two are important, but I often classify them as part of the Forgotten Realms.
I recently reread Night Below. A great adventure.
