    The Ancient Flan

Okay kids, so the WoG is covered in vestigages of once great but now forgotten cities, ruined and lost to the memory of careless history. The Flan are an ancient peoples spread all over the place. If my adventurers were going to come across an old Flan burial tomb (I like to imagine a large mound or perhaps a dolman that can be found in parts of the United Kingdom), but what would the interior look like? In the main resting tomb, where the dead warrior-hero of ages past would be resting in ageless sleep, what would he dressed in? Would he have a viking feel? Smile A generic barbarian feel? Sad A Babylonian feel? Confused I just don't remember any referrence as to what ancient Flan would have dressed like. Any help would be greatly apreciated! Cool

look to what we know of the modern flan first of all... they tend to have either a celtic (geoff etc.) or native american (Rovers of the barrens, etc.) feel to them... perhaps your ancient flan tomb could incorperate both of these aspects, showing that the "celtic" flan and the "native american" do both come from the same roots, that at some time in thier past, but after the warrior king in question passed, some flan chose to emphesize certain aspects of thier culture at the expense of others while a different group chose to focus on other aspects entirley.

so perhaps your warrior could wear embroidered leather armor and clothing that is different from but obviously realated to the clothing worn by the modern Rovers of the Barrens, at the same time he could have a bronze headed spear, sword and dagger, and have been burried with his chariot (of the celtic type).

I think the Flan dress described in the WoG boxed set was meant to represent the typical pre-cataclysmic "pure" Flan. I wouldn't make them culturally homogeneous across the Flanaess, but I'd be reluctant to give them tartan fashions since that's so strongly associated with Oeridians.

I believe one of the Vecna modules has some comments about the dress of the people of Fleeth...

Thank you guys! I will most definitely use a hybrid of Russian vikings and native American tribes. Cool
