Arrrgh - I've just wasted half an hour trying to find a functional weathre generator. The Scroll of Forecasting seems be offline and the excel version seems to require a toolpak I don't have. Please help! Gods forbid I should have to spend 6 hours rolling on the manual tables.

Jeez, in that half hour, I could have rolled up a month of weather in advance, Paul. What's wrong with tables?

We have 3 groups in different locations so the weather forecaster was cool for keeping track of each group in relation to each other while adding a bit of flavour from the weather.
With keeping up to date with the three groups (including keeping the journal up to date), some online gaming, a full time business, plus stitching together a combined gazeteer from all the LG mods, and a star trek photo-story on Youtube in my 'spare' time, the weather is the least of my worries! It would be nice to have the scroll working again. It was really useful.

Among all the things GH I've hoarded over the years I found this weather generating program that according to the author are working as the "Greyhawk system".
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/296601/WEATHER.ZIP
It is a 16-bit program and therefore not compatible with Win7/Vista, but you can run it on XP or XP virtual on a newer machine.
I hope it's of some help.

You need to have VisualBasic installed.
Here is a link to a Microsoft support page were you can find the files and instructions needed. I hope it solves the problem.

Weather Forecaster, version 1.03
Copyright(c) 2001 - 2004 Tomi 'myrpg' Suuronen
Weather Forecaster is a Dungeon Master aid for Dungeons & Dragons Role Playing Game (owned by Wizards of the Coast). Specifically to its native world (Greyhawk). This software is based on the original Greyhawk boxed set rules (1983). Only wind speed and special weather conditions are not inplemented (yet) and an altitude of 3000 feet is aproximated for mountains. This program is written in Java2 and uses a third party program for XML parsing (Xerces) from the Apache Software Foundation.
The program outputs the forecast into an .html-file, named in GUI or in manually run [instructions].xml-file.
Any comment is appreciated !
The email should contain the following text "sääohjelma" in the subject field to avoid it being considered as a spam.

3ednd Weather Generator (Excel)
Unlike other weather generators, this sheet generates a WHOLE YEAR of weather -- using the 2E weather system. Currently, the calendar uses the Greyhawk Calendar and can calculate a whole year of weather for any region in Greyhawk. For each day, shows the daily Low and High Temperature, Wind Speed, and # Hours of Daylight. Also, calculates precipitation and uses the 2E weather tables to generate extreme weather. System has been extensively tested and creates VERY realistic weather patterns that change _gradually_ from day to day and season to season. Formatted in a nice calendar format suitable for printing. I have been considering doing a Forgotten Realms version if there is interest, if you are interested, please email me... try it out, let me know what you think. Email me if you have any suggestions, questions, comments - meatpopsicl3@yahoo.com. Requires MS Excel with Analysis Toolpack. Thanks!
