Aerdi and Aeredi?

When I read history of the Great Kingdom, I noticed the word "Aeredi" appearing many times. At first I thought it was a miss spelling, but then I saw "Aerdi", too......so, are they the same word or not? I searched on google and it seems not many results of "Aeredi"......
I know this question is very stupid but I'm not native english speaker. I'm very confused with these two words.

The proper spelling should be Aerdi.

The Aerdi are a tribe of Oeridian's most famous kingdom every created the Great Kingdom other tribes well known though not limited to the Vollar of Veluna and the Nyrondal of Nyrond all Oeridian tribes. There are many minor oerid tribes the Aerdi the most popular with Nyrondal and Vollar also being well known.

but, I would point out that the exact same thing happens in our real-world histories all the time. Misspellings lead to place names being changed, or being inaccurate.
Which is why, in the Player's Gu9ide to Greyhawk (I believe) there is a section that talks about how and why place names differ. Keoghland vs. Keoland, etc. This could be explained away IC as simply the same thing. Historians spelling the same words different ways
