    Blinding the Cloud (rules question)

    Mechanics/rules question (shocked?):

A creature/character/being is in gaseous form (innate ability, spell, item, whatever) and fails its saving throw when a Light or Darkness spell is cast on it.

What happens? I assume the illumination or darkness will "follow" the insubstantial cloud regardless.

Or...turn it around. The being is corporeal and fails its saving throw when a Light or Darkness spell is cast, THEN becomes gaseous afterwards. Does this nullify the effects of those spells?

    I wouldn't think so...

Your questions are getting more and more oddly specific, Lanthorn. This one kills me. Laughing

    Laughing No kidding.

Both spells would stay in effect, on the target. Light would be a good way to help PCs track a vampire that goes gaseous. If it helped lead PCs to the vampire lair, such that they could kill it permanently, I would probably even give an XP bonus to the player's PC that came up with the idea. Cool

I can better that one. I once had a cleric PC target an enemy brigand wizard standing atop a ruined tower with a command to "Jump!". Well, one blown saving throw later, and SPLAT! Shocked Unsurprisingly, things went down hill rather quickly for the brigands after that. Laughing

    Ditto. Happy

Tiggertom is always wanting me to run a game -- just the two of us -- because the group doesn't game often enough for him.

But he is not capable of such thought. As the DM I am required to run two PCs in addition to any and all NPCs in the game. Even more, he wants my PC to "lead" the group. rolleyes

He does this to insure that "we" don't run into any trouble. Thus I am continually forced to deliberately chose "wrong" so that there will be some "action." Exclamation

Needless to say, I don't like gaming . . . just the two of us. Razz

As for the Light and Darkness spells, I agree with Cebrion on this one. Wink

    Bonus XP! Happy
