I only wish these "Pro" wrestlers would stay out of fantasy flicks. They are lowering the standard by which fantasy fliks are judged with their bad acting and horrible feign of interest.

I don't think that's valid info anymore. That page hasn't been updated since Feb of this year. I seem to remember some other company acquiring the rights to the Conan film and everything developed so far being canned, and Arnold the Barbarian having nothing to do with it.

Yes, pro wrestlers turned movie stars make for Cymraegmorgan staying away from the theater. I accidently saw parts of Scorpion King when it aired on basiccable. It reminded me of the old Dragon Magazine review of, I think, the first Conan flick. They referred to it as "Conan versus the Flower Children of Set." Laughing Laughing

I prefer actors over pro atheletes in my film any day. Like Matthew Broderick in Ladyhawke.

I remember that review. EGG panned the hell out of it, IIRC.

Which is entirely ironic. Written by Oliver Stone and directed by John Milius, it's one of the few S&S movies of the era that I can actually watch these days, and it had a FANTASTIC soundtrack.

...I wonder what Gary thought of the D&D movie?

He deffinitely did not like it. I've seen him comment on it either on Dragonsfoot, ENWorld, or Kuntz' forums.

Roland Kickinger should be the new/old Conan.

See him at this link http://www.kickinger.com/

I first saw him on the FOX show "Son of the Beach", and thought that he really looked like Arnold, and would be the perfect choice to play in any new Conan movies. He's even Austrian, so their accents would be similar too.

And now he IS playing Arnold in the A&E movie "See Arnold Run".

Well guys, here's something fantasy oriented with no pro wrestlers, or even actors. In case some of you didn't know, Animal Planet is doing a special about Dragons airing on March 20th I think. It is to be done the same way as Discovery did Walking with Dinosaurs. Looks very cool. There are several clips here:
