Thanks guys. If I were to use one of these right away I'd probably do the first one about the Aerie. But that's probably because I've been inspired lately by ancient elven lore.

Ha! That's the one I found the most tempting to expand upon myself! Cool

I love them all, but I'm going to play favorites. I can't resist the Lovecraftian sounding mystery of the Ghost Gate, and who can resist a hill in the vast Swamp that's actually the shell of a huge dragon turtle with shards of a dead god's spear embedded in it?

I've actually been thinking about the connection between giant eagles and elves lately, too.

I like these. That Grand Mirage, at first could seem like just a thing for kindly DMs to hand the players when their characters are in it deep and need a place to rest and heal up, but I think something more could be added in there too. I'm not sure what, but something.

As to the thing you said in reply to the comment: should you continue to do little paragraphs of 3-5 places, or one big writeup. I'd say go with the flow on that. If all you come up with are a paragraph or two on a place, so be it. But if you find yourself inspired on one particular location, don't fight it. Do a full writeup if that's where your mind takes you. Happy

    Thanks for the input BW!

Yeah the Grand Mirage is a "helpful" place on the surface, especially if the players run their resources low too quickly. The steppes and desert is vast and that place is a nice pit stop. As to trouble, it's possible. No reason why only the PCs find it.
