    A Greyhawk without?

I'm guessing this is the right forum for this.

So what are likely repercussions of a sudden and unexplained disappearance of Mordenkainen, the Circle of 8, and Iuz? Who are the secondary world shakers that would come to the fore? Rary and Rolibar are empire building in the desert, maybe with the big names gone they'd make their move on Greyhawk? I'm kinda new to the setting. Are their other movers and shakers that would definitely make a move if the aforementioned players were removed from the board?

Well, if you're just disincluding those particular NPCs (Mordenkainen, The Circle of 8, and Iuz), I'd suggest that the following would have far more freedom to act.

Rary and Robilar, as you mentioned.

    Iggwilv, 'nuff said.

The Mage of the Vale. It has been suggested (don't remember where) that Mordenkainen is the main obstacle to this personage's attempts to gain greater power. With Mordenkainen out of the picture, who knows where The Black One's pursuits will take him.

The Scarlet Brotherhood. It is certain that they would gain much freedom to operate if those opponents were removed.

Surviving members of the Horned Society. They would be more able to openly congregate and work to recreate their nation.

Basically, the chaos and evil ones will win in their objectives

the only bastion of good will be Furyondy and probably Phillidor

Ideally, the vacuum left by the deaths of powerful NPCs (when they aren't antagonists) should be filled by player characters as they rise in level. I tend toward the opinion that most NPCs should die eventually as the campaign progresses. The Circle of Eight should probably have stayed dead after the events of Vecna Lives.

Iuz would probably be replaced by petty warlords similar to the rulers of the Bandit Kingdoms, assuming a worse evil doesn't take his place. His former kingdom would be a sensible place for characters who have opposed the PCs since their lowest levels to set up shop as they rise in power and infamy.

Basically, remember that the PCs are the stars of the show. Eventually their foes will eclipse the foes of previous generations, as they eclipse the older heroes.

Removing the Circle of Eight as a faction might actually strengthen the forces of good. (If Iuz is also removed, as the OP suggests). The Circle is arguably as much a hindrance to the forces of weal as it is an aid, being dominated by shifty true neutral types who labor under the delusion that evil powers must be accepted and sometimes collaborated with as part of "balance."

Did the OP include Tenser in the Circle?

Robilar may split with Rary if you go by material in the latest published module featuring him.
