What experiences or stories do you have running the AD&D psionics rules found in the PHB and DMG?

I found the psionics articles in Dragon #78 very useful and inspirational, and we built upon them and our own homebrewing BITD to expand psionics considerably*, although we've also played with them in different ways at different times (including removing/ignoring them too).
