    Hi Crag,

Artur benefitted by not being one of the Furyondian "usual suspects," whose reputation was for self-serving obstructionism, by being a military leader of the first rank, because he was smart enough to play the knightly class while working in the common class, as well.  He had no negatives, strong positives and "the vision thing."

The Baron of Willip's heirs were exiled, not executed.  They remain a potential source of conflict.  Right now, that conflict moderated by the royal patronage lavished on Willip but if things were to start to go south, you can bet a "baron in exile" would turn up to make things interesting.

The Free Borough Accords are more Magna Carta than US Constitution.  Noble resentment is muted as the knightly class has benefited from Artur's ascension.  Among the greater nobility, there is resentment, nowhere greater than in the Gold Province, whose Duchess stops just short of assassination attempts or succession.  Artur, however, has the advantages of winning, spreading the wealth and having the common people, the knightly class and the clerics mostly with him.  That's a good hand to draw too.

More detail is coming in follow on articles already loaded to CF.
