While contemplating how much Ramenos and Merrshaulk are like Tsathoggua and Yig, I also contemplated how different they could be. Namely, focusing on the intoxication element of their portfolios.

So, instead of being totally Evil demon lord types, what if they really only care about chillaxing?

Yes, bullywugs and yuan-ti offer them human sacrifices, and Merrshaulk made that nasty poison-drug that turns people into yuan-ti, but what if they would prefer something different?

Maybe, you know, sacrifice real munchies to them. Tons of corn chips with cheese and salsa and refreshing sparkling beverages with citrus flavors.

And then instead of all the destructive stuff and turning you into a snek, what if they provided something else. Say, alternate potions.

In Dark Sun, the potions were magical fruit.

These two could provide toads with lickable skin or sneks with venom that is not lethal but instead enhancing. They could have recreational variants and more functional variants for adventuring.

They would have to be taken care of until used, and advanced variants might be usable 1/week or 1/day if really cared for.

Naturally, these versions would likely have their layer of the Abyss migrate to someplace more mellow - Pandemonium to start, possibly even the Outlands.

Just some random thoughts.
