Greyhawk/ Legends of the Five Rings

The following post is about combining 2 of my favorite settings and expanding the known world of Greyhawk. Thoughts and comments are welcome for those that know the settings.

Beyond the Sea of Dust, is the Empire of Rokugan, the ties to lands of the Flanaess are loose at best but there are there.

Clans
Of all the clans that have ties to Flanaess the Scorpion have the strongest ties. They have ties to the scarlet brotherhood and have even trained a few of their founders in the ways of Martial Arts (where the first monks of the scarlet brotherhood come from).

Due to moving L5R unto Oerik there are now Elves, Dwarves etc in Rokugan. The are the same as their Flanaess counterparts except for ageing. All humans, Demi-Humans age as humans in Rokugan. Visitors from outside of Rokugan would still age at their natural race, this fast aging effect only demi humans native to Rokugan. And may be connected to Fu Leng’s fall from the Heavens.

The Divine
The strongest connection of the divine forces in the two lands is Thrazidun, as a fragment of him, know as the Lying Darkness recently attempted to unmake Rokugan.

Five of the Celestial Dragons in an attempt to understand the world created a daughter, but process of connecting her to worlds that they wish to understand better, cut her off from the Celestial Kingdom of Dragons, driving her mad. Since then Tiamat has given birth to sons and daughters of her own.

The last and youngest of the Celestial Dragons, the Dragon of Metal, known in the land of the Flanaess as Baphomet has vowed balance the celestial scales that creation of Tiamat has upset.

Nice fusion! I have a fondness for L5R too.

It's surprising how well the 'port works. I assume you've placed Rokugan where the Celestial Empire appears on the Dragon Annual map?

There's a large desert to the south and west of that big chain of mountains to the west of the Celestial Imperium on the DA1 map.

I'm not familiar with the Ivory Kingdoms, though - I'm assumign they're some sort of Africa/India flavoured setting. In that case - I'd put them in the jungles to the south and west of the Celestial Imperium on the DA1 map.

Just curious what is the L5R and where can I learn more about it? It sounds really interesting and I've been wondering about other parts of Oerth not shown on most maps.

Google is your friend for more info on L5R.

As for more info on the rest of the Oerth, trawl down through the threads on this forum - there's been a few speculating about the shape of the rest of the Oerth.

My only suggestion is to keep humanity. L5R is very human-centric and xenophobic; only one non-human race has even marginal acceptance.

If you must have a non-human population, re-assign the non-human races of the great clans as per OA (AD&D or D&D3E versions). River folk, korobokuru, etc fit better, I think.
