Associations and Greyhawk

In the recent Adventure Path, I noticed that they were using Associations, as presented in the recent PHB II. This is a section I had not spent much time on, so I went back and read over it. It is exceptional. There have been numerous versions of organizations and game mechanics over the years, starting in 1st ed, and really becoming numerous in 3rd ed. Fantasy Flight had created a mechanic for Organizations that I have been using, but I have to say that the affiliations are superior, IMO.

Actually, the affiliations are the first effort I really like for any edition.... which may be unusual for a 3.5 innovation. That said, the question is, what organizations do we think should be created as an Affiliation in the WOGH?

The ones who come to mind are the following:

The Gnarley Rangers
The Knights of the Watch
The Silent Ones
The Knight Protectors

One thing the PHB II does not suggest is that these affiliations would be an excellent antecedent to any prestige classes.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Perhaps some of the other arcane organizations of the Flanaess? The Zashassar of Ekbir? The Sorcerers' Nexus of Rel Astra?

Off the top of my head:

The Royal Guild of Merchants of Aerdy.
The Moqollad Consortium.
The Brotherhood of the Bronze (Nyrond)
The various ranger organisations mentioned in the Adri and Grandwood.
The olven sages/mages of the Grandwood (books too far away to check; brain too fried to remember).
Knights of the Hart
Knights of the Holy Shielding
Gynarchy of Hardby and The Order of the Throne of Wood
The Hardby Marines
The Greyhawk Mountaineers (?)
The Arapahi Wardogs

It's a big list...

?'ve always wanted to develop the cockatrice riders of the wild coast. one can't name many underground/bandit organisations in GH but it would work cool in a banditry-raid oriented campaign.
