Baklunish and Sea of dust campaign

I am planning to start a campaign in the baklunich lands, so it will have an arabian flavor. I am trying to get my hands on any published materials (any edition) to help me to get a good grasp on Arabian / Desert / Grasslands issues. At tis time I have found the following:

Al-Qadim series (AD&D)
The Hordes (AD&D-Forgotten Relams)
Desert of Desolation (AD&D)
City of the Silt Sea (AD&D-Dark Sun)
Emirates of Ylaruam (D&D-Mystara)
Empires of the Sands (AD&D-Forgotten Relams)
Anauroch (AD&D-Forgotten Relams)
Old Empires (AD&D-Forgotten Relams)
Calimport (AD&D-Forgotten Relams)
Player's Secrets of Khourane (AD&D Birthright)
Player's Secrets of Ariya (AD&D Birthright)
Player's Secrets of Binsada (AD&D Birthright)
Sandstorm (D&D 3.5)
Day of Al'Akbar

Does anyone know any other background materials ?

thanks

Are you looking for RPG-stuff only, or any source? If the latter, start with the The Arabian Nights (free from Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/128).

I'll check my stuff and see if I have anything.

I am about to post several articles on the baklunish basin; although not canon it could be helpful. See the Baklunish Heraldry Contest Thread (I am no artist.)

Gulf of Ghayar Nations: Istustan, Komal, Mur, Risay
Island Chains: Ataphad, Qayah-Bureis, Janasib, Qayah Bureis City States
Unaffiliated Threats: Isra Corsairs, Bakhoury Coast
Underwater Relations: Ixitxachitl, Locathah, Merfolk, Sahaugin, Triton
Organisations: Carrion Cult (Ataphad), I'sam (Ataphad), The Il-Fahrin Smugglers (Bakhoury Coast), The Shadi Cadre (Janasib)
Area Map: http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=mymw32mgyym&thumb=4

As soon as the heraldy is decided I will be submitting these always nice to see interest in the west.

I've tried your link a couple of times and though it takes me to Mediafire, I can get no map. Sad

What's the secret? Confused

UK6 All That Glitters (AD&D) - Not exactly Arabian Nights-themed, but a portion of the adventure called The Ash Mire would make an excellent area in the Sea of Dust.

It is the SoD and the Amedio by my canon.

I would recommend you read Gygax’s novel, Sea of Dust, as it crosses just the path you’re running. There are some NPCs and plots that would be fun to run. You’ll also find some interesting bits in Greyhawk Adventures for the area. Here are some of my maps, though I don‘t have much detail: http://www.canonfire.com/cf/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=899

If you want to run through Ull, check out Mort’s articles. I’d bet if you look through the article archives you’ll find some more stuff, there are about 800, IIRC. Sounds like a very fun campaign.

I've used "The Ruins of Andril" from Dragon magazine numerous times, and it seems a perfect fit for the SoD. And believe it or not, some of the old Dark Sun stuff can easily be retrofitted for that area. Also, there are tons of things from the Living Greyhawk campaign that involve the Baklunish lands. Finally, Ed Healy wrote a few things for that area. Some of them are hidden in various forum threads here on Canonfire, but I'm sure you can find them if you look hard enough. 'Tis a true pity he never got around to finishing his work.

Sounds like a campaign I'd LOVE to play in. *ahem* And If you ever venture near Ull you'd be unwise not to check into one of my exhaustive CF articles on this nation.

Crag ... I think taht the problem with the link might be that you are sending us to "your files". the link reads ".../myfiles.php" and that is usually for when each user has a sort of "home" screen where they can see their own stuff. Each time I load this page, for example, it takes me to Mediafire sure enough, but I get a page that says
You currently do not have any files.
You can upload files using the upload form on the main page of MediaFire.com

So ... if there is a way to link to the files themselves, rather than your user page, or if there's a way to set a public link, that would be perfect.

I'd also add in

X4 Master of the Desert Nomads

...and its sequel

X5 Temple of Death

Both are easy to convert to whatever system, and have some freaky stuff in them too that will keep you players off balance and guessing(never a bad thing).

Thanks Icarus Smile

Btw: Could I post the OJ Contential Map; I used an overwrite program to roughly place the settlements of the area and feel others would be interested to get a sense of the size of the manuscript. However as the map is not mine; curious is permission required to upload the files.

You might also want to consider some Pathfinder material on Golarian's Katapesh (Arabian) or Osirion (Egyptian).
