I was wondering, i know Warforged are a hot button topic and everyone says they are Ebberon specific, but I was thinking of maybe including them as perhaps defective automotons from the Egg.

I THINK MOST 4E RACES CAN BE SHOE-HORNED into specific regions and Blackmoor is good for living constructs of all kinds. Apologies for CAPS lock!

Wolfgang Bauer's two Dungeon magazine adventures set around the Land of Black Ice and Blackmoor could give you some good background for working with that idea.

I've made the warforged a product of the Valley of the Mage. I've set my recent campaign a few centuries after the Greyhawk Wars and changed the results of those wars to produce more of a Greyhawk "The Dark Ages" which allows me to capture the "Points of Light" feel and account for the differences between 3e and 4e. n my version, the Mage of the Valley constructed the Warforged as his conquering army, suffered defeat and the remanants of the Warforged became free willed constructs.

I also use Warforged, but in a Post-Githyanki Incursion Flanaess run in Pathfinder. The PCs in Incursion awakened them shortly before leaving for the Githyanki city toward the end of the game.
