-I guess that's him. Sad. I didn't know about his work with disabled vets.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Jason's passing.
He was the first person in the Greyhawk community that I connected with, and if it was not for his support, his advice, and guidance, I doubt that my blog would have lasted as long as it has.
Jason could be cross and irascible, but it was only because he was passionate about Greyhawk's Gygaxian roots. He truly wanted everyone to make Greyhawk their own, and believed too much "lore" would detract from their own creativity.
That adherence to the Folio, and only the Folio showed: He was a most prolific writer, and unbelievably imaginative; it shows in his posts, both here and on his blog: Hall of the Mountain King.
His greatest gift to us was his index though. It's a godsend to any and all who want to research any subject concerning the setting.
RIP, my friend. I will miss you terribly.

Jason was a huge presence in our community and he will be dearly missed. Gratefully his prolific works will live on and inspire others to continue exploring all things Gygax and Greyhawk, just the way JZ would want.

So sorry to hear that. His saga of Nosnra was outstanding. I really appreciated all the work he put into his Greyhawk material. RIP.

I found out about Jason's passing a few days ago. Found I was having trouble finding the words. Very nice obituary. Such a loss for the community, but we can take solace in knowing that we are spoiled in that Jason was so prolific, and that Jason certainly knew his work was appreciated. Seems I found a few words after all.
Rest in peace, Jason, and always bring a 10' pole with a kobold tied to the end of it into Gary's dungeons. _________________ - Moderator/Admin (in some areas)/Member -

He was both a good man and a good friend. We shared much in common. I will miss our conversations. My faith is that he is now in a better place. Fare well, my friend. May your adventures continue. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Respect.
I didn't know Jason Zavoda well at all, but I could see how much he impacted GH fandom. And I'll remember him whenever I use his index.

Paul Stormberg and I are starting to work on a permanent resource/compilation for Jason's many Greyhawk contributions, and I'm hopeful that we'll find a good home for it on GreyhawkOnline.

Terribly saddened to hear this. - I know this thread is older, already, but really want to express my condolences, to Jason's family, and to all who called him friend.
That it was even possible for a kid from over the pond like me, twenty years ago, to get into Greyhawk the way I did was in considerable part due to the knowledge and the resources Jason provided for the community. Hadn't seen him in around for a couple of years - at least five, or something - and honestly didn't know he was still active. Glad he was because this now gives me some cool stuff to read up on.
Take care, folks. Oh, the humanity. - Next time I roll the dice with my players, we'll have a good ale in Jason's honor. _________________ "A Minstrel's Memory": PBPs & Other Games, since 2005.

A tremendous loss to the community.
Reading through his NPC thread, it's evident that he possessed an endless well of rich imagination. He'll be deeply missed.
RIP, Jason.
