Zihindia

New on the blog, the first in a series of articles on Zihindia, the land beyond the Sea of Dust. it's in the format of my "Dragonne Magazine" series (meant to evoke the look and feel of the 80's Dragons), and includes a large poster map that can be used with the original Darlene map!

Enjoy!

New on the blog; another extract from Dragonne magazine. This time, we look at demihumans and monsters of Zihindia. Enjoy!

Thanks for creating these! I just read the first one, enjoyed it very much, and look forward to the next and future installments.

I'm particularly interested in how Zahindian / Zihindian trade missions might have interacted with those of the Toli, Rhola, Hold of the Sea Princes, Kingdom of Keoland, and Scarlet Brotherhood across the centuries and look forward to gleaning insights / details from your treatment of the region.

New on the blog; another pair of Zihindia articles, continuing the Zihindian patheon, and adding 32 new spells for illusionists that originate in that distant country in the World of Greyhawk.

Enjoy!

Thanks for another great piece, I'm a big fan of these Beyond the Flanaess articles!

I had a couple of questions;

i) do you have in mind alignments for the various regional leaders and/or their realms (especially if different to the ruler)

ii) Glacier Dwarves - do they have the same racial abilities (aside from stat modifiers) as regular dwarves? I figured they may not have the bonus to saves vs spells and magic item failure chance if they were able to be magic-users. Also, what alignment is the racial standard?

iii) What is the standard racial alignment for the vanara?

Hi Wolfling!

1) I wasn't, but now that you mention it, doing a Zihindian version of the regional alignment map would be cool as anything, if I can do it without it looking like a 5 year old drew it.

2) No, Glacier Dwarves do not get the usual dwarven abilities regarding stone, nor do they get the same saving throw bonuses. In retrospect, though, they should get the same bonuses against poison as regular dwarves. I'll post an updated version of the article at some point. Their Monster Manual entry would list them as lawful neutral with good tendencies.

3) Chaotic neutral

Glad you're enjoying the articles!

Thanks for getting back to me on those queries.

I'm happy to help out with a 1e WoG style alignment chart (and trade goods map if you like). If you want to send me the relevant info for the region I can put my illustrative and photoshop skills to use for you.

New on the blog; a new sub-class of cleric, plenty of new spells to go with it, and a couple of new deities for Zihindia, the land beyond the Sea of Dust. All free, of course!
