MAJOR OJ updates!!!! (Please read and comment)

Well after a long wait, OJ 19 will be out next week. The new OJ's will feature two different versions.

The Tarrasque Edition: A web-only version of the OJ. Features color images, a color parchment background, 10-12pt body text or higher and will feature as many color maps and images as we can fit that make sense.

Printer-Friendly Edition: Easy on the ink, high on the content. Features some color images and maps, but focuses on grayscale images/ maps. May feature smaller font sizes for easier printing. Though this has yet to be decided.

Both: The header and title font sizes will always remain the same.

Keep in mind both can be printed. However, the larger version will eat your ink like a Tarrasque! =P
Please feel free to comment if you have other ideas, suggestions, or thoughts. =)

My vote would be for you to use vector art instead of bitmaps where it makes sense. For example, the wanted posters, and b/w maps in the current issue.

vector art...

Actually right now we use jpg format files that I edit using Photoshop. If you could point me to a good vector art reference it would surely help towards researching vector art. =)

Only suggestion I have, though it hasn't really been a problem with OJ in the past, is to embed any non-standard fonts into the pdf. Often, when windows/acrobat tries to substitute a standard font for something pretty the author intended, it looks crappy. Embedded fonts dont raise the file size much, and are worth it for sure.
