Theocrat Issak Tattoo image

Hi all -
OK, another post later about all the good, bad and in-different stuff that's been going on with all sorts of stuff.

But below (if I know how to do it) is an image of the tattoo I'm getting on Sunday Oct. 16, 2011. My friend past away in December and he left me a lot of his game books and his wife said the he wanted me to have them and do something with them that meant something to us. This is a design that I've had for years - but I can't draw. A scrap of paper here and there. After a time a little more and a little more. I think this is 99% right and the minor adjustments she (the tattoo artist) makes and it'll be 105% right on.

You'll note the Pholtus Sun and Moon from the original design that Mort did on my avatar image. You'll also note that the Theocrat's crown is similar to what he designed back then too.
Yes the Blue and Green shield is like the Golarion nation of TALDOR! but purple, blue and green (in that order) are my favorite colors. Thus the ribbons are purple and green.
The key's are from the Vatican coat of arms, same with the tassel. The shield design and the ribbons are from various coat of arms - I've used Bryan's concepts for some of it as well.

In the end, it's all Theocrat Issak. No I'm not religious at all. It's not a knock on anybody's religion or design concepts - but more of a homage to Gary Holian (who first called me Theocrat sometime well before CanonFire), Pholtus (my 1995-1999 Empire of Keoland campaign was about Mother Tarkar becoming Empress and converting to the Imperial Theocracy of Keoland) as always been something that I associated with. I like the Sun and Moon - the day and night, the science and heavenly bodies, and its symbolism and even to Pathfinder's Golarion. In the end, I've been gaming since 1979 and that d20 in the center signifies how gaming has been the center of my life. The bright colors and ideas that flow are how I see myself.

I hope you enjoy and the EVOL WifeFIEND will post pictures to my FB as we go along tomorrow. - which is /issak.

Let me know what you think.

Pretty rad, sir. None of my tats have any actual meaning.

For my birthday last year I got a tattoo of a weedy seadragon, one of my favorite sea critters and to me a symbol of fatherhood, as papa seahorses carry their young.

My birthday is next month. I have been giving serious consideration to complimenting papa seadragon with mama octopus... Aurora the Octopus

Too cool, Issak. I especially like the explanation of it all.

I'd get one in homage to you, my friend. But Tiggertom asks me why I would wish to "mar perfection?" Perfection?

Yes -- Tigger says that I'm "perfectly round." Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Evil Grin

Love it, Issak. Keep the "new" avatar. Wink

Man ... Theocrat Issak ...
That is going to make one incredibly awesome tattoo. I have a great deal of tattoo coverage on me, and they each and every one have meaning - a person, place, event, in my life. (For interest's sake: Here are All of My Birds
.)

I can't think of anything else to add, except:
Be Well. Be well tatted.

Actual Work

Hi all -
F. I am a wuss and have a very low tolerance for pain. Claudia said I wasn't the worst, but in the top 5 for not handling the pain. But it was 6hrs. And Huge.
Take a look at the folder for Actual Tattoo Work to see the process as we went through and the final. I haven't yet unwrapped it but will be doing so very shortly and will up a couple more pics and some throughout the week.
Of course, they're on my FB page too at /issak.
Wade, awesome. Not a bird person myself but I can appreciate the work and the designs. And as someone that has two other tat's - I'd forgotten how painful (or I'd become such a bigger wuss) - I can appreciate the time and effort into getting something that is personal.
Now the healing process begins and I think I should get a free nat 20 roll during each game session since I have an actual d20 on me at all times. I will never have another d20 emergency again!

Glad to see you on the boards again Issak.

Yes the tattoo is nice but the meaning behind it is much stronger. I don't have any tattoo's myself. I can't find anything that I want on me permanently. I think your planning on being a quasi-deity! What would Pholtus do?
