Dragon's Eye Tower??? Vesve/Wayestil Lake

I am going to be running an adventure through the Vesve Forest this weekend. The group is heading over to Whyestil Lake and going to run throught the fan module Watchers on the Whysestil (thanks Turcotte).
I think I have a pretty basic grip on the Vesve to start this but while I was looking through material last night, I saw on Anna's map there is something called Dragon's Eye Tower.
I can not find any other reference to this. This isn't a complaint, just curious what it is and if I should worry about it. It is probably easy enough for me to avoid it completely for the adventure I want to run this weekend.
I am more curious what it is.
I am currently in post war years (576).

If you didn't, there's some outstanding stuff there...

I did breeze that article quickly so I may have missed it. I can relook it over.
From all I have so far, I can easily avoid the whole tower and then hope it doesn't come back to haunt me.
Gee guys, you mean you didn't happen to notice that large evil tower that you strode by? Huh! Well, voila, there it is now.
He He He.

It may be that Anna intend the "Dragon's Eye Tower" to be the old Flan keep now occupied by the Green Dragon Ophioverdaurare, mentioned in the Oerth Journal #14.
Haven't seen Anna's map of the area yet, but it would certainly fit with the place's name. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Probably because that's a paper back novel and I've never read it.
Thanks for pointing it out though. Now . . .
What does it say about the Dragon's Eye Tower?

Anna's map has the dragon's lair on the north end of the Vesve (which I believe is the correct location).
As for the book, what does that little gem have to tell? I haven't read many (hardly any) of them.

Considering how chock full of Greyhawk lore the other books are not full of, this one probably features a Dragon...who has its Eye...on a Tower.
And that's how they getcha. _________________ - Moderator/Admin (in some areas)/Member -

Siege of the Tower is the best of the four GH Endless Quest books, although that doesn't say much. It has the most GH lore, doesn't break canon, and isn't too unpleasant to read.
Dragon's Eye Tower is described:
Quote: |
Constructed centuries ago of stone blocks, the isolated tower lies in the bleak frontier lands, between the vast Vesve Forest and the shore of calm Whyestil Lake, near the dreaded shadow of the evil land of Iuz. Few soldiers desire to be stationed in such a place[snip]
The outpost is quite and mysterious, frequently blanketed with ominous fog, and the sky is nearly always grey. The place is thick with shadowy history.
Dragon's Eye Tower got its name from a mysterious and powerful magical object, a petrified dragon's eye lost centuries ago in the winding, barely explored tunnels beneath the ancient structure. But now, after all of these years, the Dragon's Eye has finally been found by another band of adventurers.
Rumors of the discovery have spread to dark Iuz, and the enemy is interested indeed[snip] |
Nearby Crockport has not yet been captured, setting the book pre-Wars or during the Wars. A Count Delwyn rules Crockport from an ancient castle in the city.
