New Unearted Arcana - new Monastic Traditions

UA New Monastic Traditions

Way of the Kensai: Ok guys, its time to be the main character in a Wuxia movie! You get 3 matial weapons as your Kensai weapons, you can decide if you apply STR or DEX to them, and you can do a lot of shenanigans with them. It gives a more aggresive profile to the monk.

Way of Tranquility: And here is the reflection of the Kensai. We have a basically diplomat-monk that can calm enemies, and cure friends in a paladin-like way. I think it could suit to a certain kind of players, but i dont think it will be very popular.

Also, dont forget to fill the last week Fighter survey: http://sgiz.mobi/s3/58266b749755

Well, if the Pit Fiend fails its saving throw, he can not attack, nor cast spells that deal damage or causes a saving throw for 1 minute. And whit a high enough Persuasion skill roll (or even a natural 20!).... Razz Evil Grin

Heck, the tradition gave the monk advantage to ability rolls to diffuse violent situations!

Looks like the Kensai is creating some rules contradictions of what is a Kensai Weapon, what is a Monk wwepaon, and how they interact with the Monk and Kensai abilities. And its understandable, after all the UA rules are for playtesting. Mike Mearls is doing a mea culpa:
