I thought I should start a new thread because the last one is a bit old. So . . .
I did talk about starting in Nyrond, but I may start in another area of the Flanaess. Like the Wild Coast (Greyhawk Grognard talked about the place in one of his videos). Of course, after the Greyhawk Wars, the city of Greyhawk got half the coast, and the orcs of the Pomarj got the other half.
Are there any adventures set in the Wild Coast? If not, I can set a game in the Domain of Greyhawk (the part that was the Wild Coast). We are still using Rolemaster. My players' characters include:
1. One mentalist specializing in the Mind Speech list.
2. a second mentalist based on Nico from "the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers"
3. A Warrior Monk
4. an Orc Arcanist
5. A paladin
and two others I'm not sure of.
1) Rob Kuntz' Dark Druids (Black Blade Publishing)
2) early 3e Dungeon adventure (issue #80s somewhere) set in Narwhal
3) an adventure in Fate of Istus set in Elredd
4) Slavers (2e by Pramas & Reynolds)
5) Kill Marquessa! & Die, Marquessa, Die! & Marquessa, Thy Name is Evil (Carlos Lising, Caslentertainment) [also, possibly, From Dark Roses, Black Thorns Grow & Thicker than Water, I'm not sure on these]
6) another Dungeon adventure involving a rakshasa temple
Slavers has a ton of background information, by the way, plenty of stuff to steal there.
I should also mention Brink of Calamity by Trent Smith, an-as-yet unpublished sandbox setting based around Narwal. I've read much of this and it's unbelievably good. Sadly, I don't think there's any way to get a hold of this yet except by contacting him. However, one chapter of it, Fractious Mayhem at Melonath Falls was published in the first year of the NoArtPunk contest compilation, and is highly recommended, superb caves behind the waterfall dungeon.
IIRC, there were several suggested adventure locales in and around the Wild Coast mentioned in the City of Greyhawk boxed set, before the Greyhawk Wars.
