Grebford and Venice?

Would it be reasonable to make Grebford on the Veng a lot like Venice? I was thinking of adapting either Norek from Norek: Intrigue in a city of Jaiman or one of the cities in the Principalities of Glantri to be Grebford for my Rolemaster campaign.

It's certainly large enough city to be an analog of Venice. Also, it's on the border with Iuz, which makes adapting Norek easier. After all a force of evil, the Unlife, seeks to take Norek, because the other states in Jaiman would fall easily. At least that is the Shadow World setup.

If you have any other ideas on making the city of Grebford like Venice, don't hesitate to share them.

FYI, I believe it is spelled 'Grabford'.

Chendl is already a city of canals (cf. Fate of Istus), so it seems quite appropriate that Furyondy would have other cities designed in that fashion. I think that, being on Lake Whystil, it is a perfect candidate for such.

Must be a problem with the map I was reading.

I had a look on a second map with better resolution, and it is -- indeed -- spelled 'Grabford.'
