I'm wondering if the D&D Basic Orcs of Thar accessory can be used as a basis for a campaign set in the Pomarj. I'm wondering about a campaign set in the Pomarj can work.

The players will create orc characters and have adventures in the Pomarj. Either to change things, or to keep the status quo. Most of what I know about Orc culture comes from World of Warcraft (I have two orc characters I'm playing), but I also bought the Orcs of Thar and I gave it a serious read. Before I attempt such a campaign, I'm wondering you're feelings on the mix.

In general, I think the supporting rules - for gaining rank and building a horde, the carrying capacity of underground and surface areas, and the like - are the most salvageable, though of course they would require significant work to fit under the Pomarj.

The material on the various humanoid groups is the least adaptable. Some of it, like the subraces of orcs and such, could be salvaged, but the power groups are all heavily on the parody and stereotype side, and less palatable and applicable for most campaigns.

Well, I guess I'll be getting a hard copy of the Orcs of Thar anyway. Especially since you said some of it could be salvaged. Some being the operative word. Thanks Samwise.
