First Article on the Founding of the Great Kingdom

Hi everyone,

I finally wrote and posted my first article on the Great Kingdom and how it was founded. It's my version of these events. As Gygax said, we were to make Greyhawk our own.

Anyway, the article submission process doesn't work in Firefox, so I used Chrome instead. I hope it works out. I'd like to write another article!

congratulations

First off, congratulations on getting an article in! We can always use more material from the loyal fanbase. Once you get started, and the next thing you know you have your own little body of work in Greyhawk lore that the community can draw from.

Second off, let me preemptively thank you for your contribution. I have found that every bit of lore has something to offer the Greyhawk campaigns, so I cannot wait to read it.

So keep on posting and congratulations again for taking the plunge and becoming an author on this site.

I agree with O-D: everyone's version of the World of Greyhawk has something of value to offer every other DM and player. I love reading other people's ideas from their own campaigns. I take what I like and add it to my own. When I offer my own contributions, that is all I hope for - that others will take the small bits they like and ignore the rest. Smile

So, thank you for adding to the Greyhawk lore here on Canonfire!, EltonJ!

Just wait until I do an article on the Sacred Bands of Hextor. Although I'm sure people have written about controversial topics before in the last twenty years. I had to do the founding of the Great Kingdom first.

But thanks, you two. The people on the Candlekeep forums are different from the people here. Not to mention the people on the Eberron Discord and how "welcoming" they are. Evil

The people on the Candlekeep forums depend on established lore. And if there is a question they ask Ed Greenwood to clarify. And the people on the Eberron discord, despite how "welcoming" they are, don't like people talking about their Eberron. Don't get me wrong, I like the Realms and Eberron. However, the people here are more Laissez-faire about how people like to talk about their campaigns.

It's like the people are more mature here. Smile

Where can we read it? I can't seem to be able to find it.
Will you go full Thebes on the Sacred band?

It hasn't been officially posted yet. There are eleven articles ahead of mine. As for the Sacred Band, I did a little research on the topic, and it looks like I have to do some more. But yes, I plan on giving the Sacred Banders of Hextor a Greyhawk twist.
