Hello,
I'm nerdyprofessor, aka Allen
Age, 61
Location, Troy AL
I started playing AD&D in 1982, 1st/2nd ed.
The nickname is an accurate description of me, according to my wife.
As my main questions are potentially...questionable, I provide them in this introductory post. I wish to discuss scenarios, places and events from Living Greyhawk, the Sheldomar Valley. A link about Rules on Discussing LG from 2012 (provided by Cedrian, I believe) is dead, and I have noticed a continued reticence to discuss LG on these pages.
if that will remain the case, I'd be grateful if someone could direct me to any other online sites such as a facebook group or some such where people reminisce and discuss LG. (BTW, I'm well aware that I am not to ask for illegal copies of LG modules and interactives, which is fine by me. I'm just seeking information)
If, however, I am welcomed to inquire about LG on CF!, I'll provide a sample of the kind of questions I am likely to ask, from basic to detailed, to see what will qualify as legitimate inquiry:
Basic: Does anyone know specifically (e. g., hex on Darlene map) where Stokerfel Manor was located?
Medium: Can someone briefly describe what happened in the Keoland interactive, "Stokerfel Manor" (KEO5-IN3)?
Detailed: Can someone summarize the activities of the Von Reiklande family in LG, including their interactions with Houses Neheli and Rhola, and versus Sakatha?
You'll find that everyone here is friendly and willing to help you be a success in your gamemastering Greyhawk. You have to know that "Living Greyhawk" isn't well liked, though. I still use the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer for my campaigns. It just gives too much information.
I think people are happy to discuss Living Greyhawk. The lack of answers to LG questions may be due to a low number of Canonfire! posters actually having participated, but I think the major reason it isn't discussed much is because of a dearth of available adventures for review and research. People simply have to rely on their own memories, which don't frequently allow for in-depth answers to questions.
Still, those kinds of questions can spark some very interesting discussions, so please post them.
Lastly, check out the Touring the Flanaess forum directly below this Welcome to Canonfire! forum. Ask your questions in the appropriate thread, but don't hesitate to post them in the main Greyhawk Discussion forum if they don't receive a reply after a few days.

-I assume that the LGG is the "real" info', while the the Savant-Sage's work is an "in game" work that a PC might be able to read or even buy. There's also the issue that LGG covers up to CY 591, and all my scenarios are still 577-579.
