    Hoch? An Elven Word?

Is there an accepted definition of Hoch? As in Hochoch, or Hocholve? It seems to mean city or settlement. One could assume that any city or town with this in the name was originally an elven settlment. Does this seem correct or am I misinterpreting this?

I thought it meant "high," as in "hoch jebline."

    Hoch olves are high elves.

It's definitely a Flan word, not an Elven one.

I'm with rasgon, I also thought it was "high."

It's actually a German word and means "high" auf Deutsch.

...or Noniz, if you accept Paul Stormberg's "lingua franca" argument.

No, but I guess it would sound like the one i linked to played twice in rapid succession.

(I got the pronounciation file from dict.leo.org)
