Greyhawk Background Generator from "The Dragon"

I didn't save the URL where I was reading the other night that an early issue of "The Dragon" had suggested tables for randomly generating Greyhawk race and location backgrounds for characters. Does anyone know where we can find a copy of these tables?

I believe you're referring to the tables in Dragon #52, pp. 18-24. As far as where to find a copy, all I can suggest is ebay. If you send me your email addy, I'll look to see if I have a copy of that article somewhere. No promises, though.

Are those Len Lakofka's birthplace tables? Weren't revised versions published in the '83 boxed set? (See also my expanded Place of Birth table.)

Yep, those are Len's tables, and they were revised for the '83 boxed set. For the record, I highly recommend DMPrata's expanded tables, especially since they're readily available for download. Good work, DMP.

    I Have the Boxed Set

I have the box set but I don't remember seeing that there. I'll take a look tonight. That'd be cool if I already have it. Thanks!

The glossography contains only the tables for determining place of birth, I'm afraid. The Dragon article contains far more information. I personally consider DMPrata's tables far more useful.

Very nice table, and obviously the product of a lot of work.

My only complaint would be the time required to roll something up.
Typically my d1000 spins for several minutes before stopping.
