Greyhawk Cool Words

Hey Everyone,
For about the last half-year I've been putting lists of cool words up on my blog - words that every gamer must know! I've recently discovered that all the names of the NPCs from G1-3 Against the Giants are actually cool, old words that have fallen out of use. My Gygax was clearly playing games with us!
For example,
Gleep Wurp (human magic-user)
Gleep: This is actually a spelling mistake and I strongly suspect the PCs name should have been Gleed (meaning squint-eyed, one-eyed; also crooked)
Wurp: A stone’s throw; a glance of the eye
If you want to know what the rest mean, you'll have to come on over!
I think it is awesome that after 20 years of owning this module, I'm still finding new things out about it.

I have always been told not to take candy, Greyhawk or otherwise, from strangers.

This is interesting and not something I've looked into before. Can't say I'm surprised that EGG was playing another of his games within games though.
Also loved what I saw of your Kingmaker campaign. The Bone March is not somewhere I'd thought of for setting this but it's a good idea. Have bookmarked for future reading.
Thanks

I hope you enjoy our crazy adventures. Sadly, we had a rather unforeseen TPK last week so we are about to start a new campaign for which I'll be posting session recaps on my blog. I'm quite excited about the new campaign as it is going to be rather different to ones I've run previously.

I have this almost irresisitable urge to go and check every other pre-generated character in an EGG module...

You could also lose several days of your life exploring EGG's Extraordinary Book Of Names.

The Norebo = Oberon connection was my launching point for the goddess Ainatet, although I changed a letter.
