and squished them together to make:

so I could make:

which confirms that the polar views in the .pdf are that of just the polar regions and not a view of the northern or southern hemispheres.

I figure for ideas on terrain, someone would want to flip between the Barsoom map and Mars map. Google Earth 5 and later allows you to do this. On the View menu, click Explore > Mars. Then, in the left pane, under Places, select and clear your Barsoom check box.
