In answer to your inquiry,
One reference I found on the Knights of Medegia comes from the 1983 Guide to the World of Greyhawk. It is only a passing reference in the Appendix describing orders of knighthood.
"...for example, the Knight Protectors of the Great Kingdom are exceedingly formidable, while those of Medegia are looked upon with near contempt, as it is well known that the title is offered for sale."
If your player wants to reforge this order into something worthy of respect, he would definitely have his work cut out for him. He would have to overcome the stigma that his father just bought the title (perhaps he was one of a few who actually earned the title, back in a time before it was available for sale). In addition, after the Greyhawk Wars, Medegia itself was razed to nearly nothing, making reforging a knightly order based there rather difficult (perhaps basing a new incarnation of the order in Rel Astra, the Dullstrand, or Sunndi).
Another order that may be useful in the Great Kingdom area are the Knights of Sun and Moon, based in Luvern in the North Province. This order is a group of Pholtean survivors of Ivid's purges, eking out a humble existance. This group may have potential as well. It is detailed sketchily in Ivid the Undying.
