    Celene

    Jay “Lord Gosumba” Scott

Campaigning in Celene is for those that want to adventure in an elven land with few non-elves living within its boundaries. Campaigning here will lead to multiple adventure types, including combative, political, and investigative. Whether your viewpoint on Celene is that of a reclusive, inward nation, or as a beacon of light for the struggle of good versus evil, this area is rife with adventure. Celene is bordered by the Lortmil Mountains to the west, the Kron Hills to the north, and the Jewel River and Suss Forest to the southeast. The lands are fertile, rich, and open with very few established cities, but hold enclaves of Grey and High Elven estates and smaller communities. Exceptions to this are the capital of Enstad and the town of East Vesper. Celene has been engaged in many conflicts over the past few centuries, including the Hateful Wars, The Battle of Emridy Meadows, and the Sorrowful Wars.

    Country specific resources:
The novel Artifact of Evil (by Gary Gygax) chapter 11.

    Adventures in this country include:
-Monster hunting within lost lairs and ancient Elven burial grounds
-Allying with the Celene Suss Forest Knights’ Watch and patrolling the eastern and southern borders of the kingdoms against incursions of Humanoids.
-Allying with the Order of Ulek to combat evils including Humanoids of the Suss, Assassins of the Dark Brotherhood, or factions of Iuz, Erythnul, or Nerull.
-Maintaining trade routes through the Lortmil Mountains to the Duchy of Ulek, or through the Welkwood to the Sylvan Elf Clans of the Gnarley Forest
-Defending the South Welkwood Bridge from Bandits, Humanoids, and monsters of the Suss Forest
-Dealing with political controversies arising from issues within the Noble and Lesser Houses of Celene

    Adventures in nearby areas include:
-Temple of Elemental Evil: T1-4; combating the resurgence of the destroyed factions of Elemental Evil
-Assistance in dealing with strange plagues that has beset communities in the Welkwood and Gnarley Forest
-Forays deep into the Suss Forest to search for the Lost City of the Suss, or the Hidden Temple of Erythnul
-Joint assistance working with the Duchy, County, or Principality of Ulek, and the Free City of Altimira
