I just discovered this - a website for the works of Gardner F. Fox, a prolific writer of sci-fi and fantasy novels. Many books are available to read right off the website, with a store as well.
Of particular note to us AD&D types is a tab labeled 'pulps' which has his stories from the various magazines he wrote for - one of them was Dragon Magazine. There was a ten part series he wrote in the early issues of Dragon that are worth your time to check out.
here is a link below to those stories and do yourself a favor and browse through the rest of the materials. He was a great one among fantasy writers, pulps, and comics. He was referenced in Appendix N of the 1e DMG - what better endorsement do you have than that!
I realize after I went through the site a bit more that I should include a warning - some of the late Mr Fox's material may fall into the category of Not Safe for Work. Especially some of the cheesecake cover art and lurid titles.
Yes, some of his writings fall near or into the soft-porn genre....
The editions that the GFL has published, whether ebooks or printed, have been pretty good overall so if you're unable to find specific works at your favorite used bookstores, you should be able to pick them up there!
During one of the nights on the greytalk chat, someone clued me in on a great site (in english, spanish and italian) of more pulps, lists of old school lost worlds fiction, fantasy writers from Europe, and other goodness.
It is ROH Press, and has an impressive lists of titles to check out. Here's the link:
