It is a quote from Players Guide to greyhawk, it is a common expression, excahanged among the warrirors of Highfolk and Furyondy. (an allusion to the helpfulness of cold iron weapons against certian memebers of Iuz's forces).

It refers to the special torture that the Overking put his treacherous cleric Spidasa, former vassal of Medegia, under called the Endless Death (I think). He is continuously tortured while wearing a ring of regeneration. Nasty, uh.

Wow, very good. That is a real piece of GH trivia.
On the topic of Spidasa, I wonder if there was anything done on what religion he was the holy censor of? I assume Hextor or perhaps Stern Allia, but these are just guesses on my part.
Anyone with any thoughts on that?
