OJ Rules Format

Dear all,
Dear Editors and Authors of the great OJ,

I like 3rd edition (or 3.5 or whatever installment) of AD&D.

However, I play and prefer HackMaster. Which is, in case you do not know it, based on 1st and 2nd edition AD&D.

A lot of people out there still play 2nd edition AD&D or "even" 1st edition.

Please include 2nd edition statistics as well, if you include stats at all.

Kind regards,
Henry

Hi Henry,
The OJ is currently edition blind. We will publish material in whatever language it is submitted. We currently do not have the resources to publish our material in multi-editions. It may be something we can do down the road and we have had some discussion on it recently among some of the staff. Right now I currently run a 1st/2nd ed campaign and I empathize with you. But there are many readers who wish that our material was in 1st/2nd ed was in 3+ed! Thanks for your feedback,

Dear Fallon,

thanks for your quick reply.

Great, what about a treatise in Babylonian on the Suel?

Sincerely now, I understand. As long as you publish this fine journal everything is fine with me, anyway!

Thank you!

Well, I know the systems, so I can translate between them. I just happen to stop shocked in reading when I read Fortitude Save, etc. That is a good system, as said, but it is, at least, as irksome as reading an English newspaper when you are American or an Austrian and reading a German magazine - vice versa in both cases, of course. So similar, yet so different.

Keep up the good work, guys!

Kind regards,
Henry

One benefit of the relationship between OJ and Canonfire is the opportunity for fans of OJ articles, like us, to create conversions of the material either here in the forum, or as an article on canonfire proper.

For example, if you're a 3e player, but you enjoyed the OJ15 Norebo article and created some Prestige Classes to go along with it, you could post them here (with the author's and OJ editor's blessing of course) for others to use.

It's natural for an author to create in the system they are most comfortable, but with 2700+ OJ and CF fans together at one site, we can work together to create a truly edition spanning resource.
