    Binding spell question

Suppose that a being imprisoned by the binding spell method had, prior to his imprisonment, granting spells ability (i.e., the being has god-like powers).

In what ways would the binding spell method impact the followers of the subject.

For example, would the followers not be receiving higher level spells?

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

In my games (2nd Edition) the examples to cite are Tharizdun and Vatun.

Imprisioned Gods: can only grant up to 2nd level spells (until freed)

Reason: Imprisoned Powers: These Deities have been imprisioned and cut off from their priesthood greatly limiting the power they can grant to the faithful. Obviously the primary focus of any imprisoned deities priesthood is the release of their patron power.

    Hope that helps...

    Thanks Crag.

I also have a response from greytalk list from Scott G. He says that "by-the-book view point, only 6th & 7th level spells are granted directly from the deity," 1e.
