Thanks for the comment. The titles are either authentic Norse (i.e. jarl) or Anglo-Saxon (i.e. aetheling) in origin. It turns out that the Norsemen had very few titles amongst their nobility other than jarl, but I filled in some detail using titles from pre-Norman conquest England, which was a Germanic society as much as the Norse.
My idea of a warlord appointee was inspired by the Roman Republic where in times of trouble a "tyrant" would be elected to conduct the war.

The term used to design the king isn't appropriate.
The fruz word "rhelt" appears to mean "king".
In fact, the stoneholders have even borrowed it from the cold tongue in order to adress the master of the hold, Sevvord Redbeard himself.
