    Thanks Osmund, I would agree with you placing them in the barbarian lands is great. But the green moss carrot nosed trolls were actually created by TSR. As the trolls of mythology and even the three Billy goats Gruff resemble the true historical backdrop for this race.

    Yes, I decided to use Urdlen for a few reasons. First he is known as the dweller below. Secondly I felt using an unknown god would make it feel less authentic. Besides the Spriggan just screamed Urdlen to me and I felt it would be much cooler to have a twisted race which struggles with its identity instead of giants gnomes with no historical background.

    The reason I used the trow as a diminutive race of trolls was based on some old slavic mythological references to trolls being small dwarf-like creatures with horned heads that work dark rituals.

    Besides I never like the idea of sea trolls, orcs , elves or ogres. I believe that the creatures of the Sea should vary greatly from surface races.

    But as I stated this is my take and I'm glad you will find some uses for it.
