Re: Give me my (Score: 1) by Wolfsire on Fri, August 18, 2006 (User Info | Send a Message | Journal) | Castle Greyhawk, Vault of the Drow? There is enough good opportunities out there without “return to type” stuff. The idea is as pathetic as most sequel movies, insofar as it just for the sake of making money. If ETCG is going to be done, Mona might do it justice, but that does not mean it should be done. Plus, sh**, give EGG his due, let him sell Castle Zagyg. He has already been slapped in the face on this. Even a good ETCG is going to be another insult. I voted “other” because several of the others would be fine and probably would be better as original ideas, as would many unlisted. As a 1E gamer, I might even buy a 3E ET Sea of Dust for the fluff, but not CG or VotD. |

After reading the gord the rogue novels, spending many hours underlining and highlighting many key interests points in those books. I have sent a campaign into those blasted lands. It was a mix of Gord the Rogue, and Dark Sun Campaign. It worked great. If you think about it Dark Sun fits perfectly into the sea of dust. The work is almost already done for you. I made the cliffs leading into and out of the sea of dust almost impassible. It was eaiser to get in than out. LOL.. They had to get creative on how to get out. All the cliffs were to high to fly or levitate over and to tough to climb over. All teleportation and planner travel was blocked similar to the energies that block teleportation into and out of the underdark.
The entire culture was alien to them, they couldnt even speak the language. But after all was said and done they came out hero's with all the exotic goods and magic items that we as DM's only read about. Sirat
