Hands down the best adventure from any system I have ever played or DM'd was White Dwarfs: Power Behind the Throne, for their warhammer system. And it is very easily transplanted into almost any GH city of a suitable size - Chendl would probably work the best though.

While recovering (and them assembling) a lost Artifact in the ruins, you have the obligatory hack-n-slash, as you pound the evil Lich Wizard. Afterwards, you kill the wizard's master, a dragon who guarded a portal to a faraway city.
