I always post my vote before looking at the results so that I don't influence my decision. This was perhaps the hardest vote I have cast to date.

I believe with the strong, dedicated and talented fanbase that GH has it has already proven that it can survive with an unquenchable life of its own. CF, GT, OJ, older sites like the Codex has proven this and stood the test of time.

But as valuable as this enthuasiasm is, there is no substitute for organized and product supported backing from a committed company. I think most people would agree with this principle or else the various arguements and heated discussions would not have taken place over the years.

And so I seem to have voted with the majority for WotC to sell GH to such a company.

Why not LG? Well I admit that I am not involved in any way with the LG and probably do not understand enough about it to comment fairly. I concede that the recent LGJ has been the source of the best quality new GH material that I have seen in years, but it does not seem overly accessible to me.

The various LG websites vary greatly in detail and although the concept of fan-based groups directing the future of their regions is an innovative and exciting one, this pretty much curtails any chance of furthering the timeline of the world as a whole.

At least as I understand it.

Some of the material may be very good, but you need to either be 'in-the-know' or spend alot of time rooting amongst the dross to find it.

My belief is that love them or hate them the GH Wars and CS's FtA were the last products to really move the world along - and how long ago were they?!

As good as they were most of our little GH community spends its time living in glory days past. Reworking the Temple, or the Slavers, or Tomb of Horrors and bitterly resenting any attempts to breathe new life into our beloved world.

So we need a company committed enough to dedicate the time to really researching GH's past that is not too afraid to offend us by giving GH both the support and the shot in the arm that it needs.

My own email based campaign is not called Hawk's Death for no reason...

Cheers
Man of the Cranes

I only wish that TSR would undertake a real reprint, not PDF copies of some of the real classic Greyhawk products.

Could someone review The Marklands and Border Watch? Seeing how expensive they are on the web makes wonder if they are worth it. By that I mean a product comparable to Iuz the Evil.
